Review: Fighting For Her by Cynthia Eden

He’s been called a beast…and he likes the title. Rick Williams is big, bad, and not someone you want to have as an enemy. As an agent with Wilde Securities, his job is to kick butt and take names. Protecting and defending—that’s part of his package deal, but his cases don’t usually involve him protecting someone like her. A crime princess with a body made for the sweetest sin. Kathleen O’Shaughnessy is the daughter of an infamous mob boss. Her father made sure that she was locked away from the world so Kat didn’t exactly have easy street growing up. Now that her father is dead, she’s suddenly out on her own—and she’s the target of every enemy that her father made in his very long career. Keep the princess alive. Keep his hands off her. The government wants to use Kat as a witness to take down what’s left of her father’s organization. To do that, though, Kat has to stay alive. She’s not big into the whole witness protection scene. Boring guys in cheap suits aren’t her thing. Kat needs

So as you can see I've added something a little different this year. On future Friday I'll be talking about books that are coming soon that I'm looking forward to. Remember I do this along with my fellow BFF  @  Born to Read Books I truly love her books and this one is the next story in the Twilight, Texas series. I always look forward to her books. It's out on 9/3/19 is it's the #9.5 book in the series. Plus, it's got a great cover. How could I not give it a try? So, do any of you read her books? So you have a favorite series or maybe just on book of hers stands out to you.

Review: Not Quite Over You by Susan Mallery

Silver Tesdal has a head for business and a mouth made for kissing, and banker Drew Lovato has his eye on both. But ever since he was dumb enough to let her go, she’s kept him at a distance. When the bank turns her down for a loan, Drew sees a double opportunity—he can finance her brilliant, unique idea to rock Happily Inc’s wedding industry and win back her trust. Despite her reputation, Silver’s not as tough as she seems. Losing Drew nearly destroyed her. Still, his kisses are as tempting as his offer to invest in her business. If she can’t quite get over him, maybe she should get under him and knock him out of her system once and for all. But her best laid plans begin to unravel as Silver finds herself falling even harder than when they were high school sweethearts. Which means that she’ll have to come clean about the secret she’s been hiding from him for years—and risk losing him forever. I know, I know, I'm so far behind on this series. Okay, really I was only one book be

Review: The Bakeshop at Pumpkin and Spice by Donna Kauffman, Kate Angell & Allyson Charles

Witches, goblins, the occasional ghost—they’re all sure to be spotted at the annual Halloween parade, where adults and children alike dress in costume to celebrate Moonbright’s favorite holiday. And no place has more seasonal spirit than Bellaluna’s Bakeshop, a family business steeped in traditional recipes, welcoming warmth—and, legend has it, truly spellbinding, heart-melting treats … Between good-natured Halloween tricks, frothy pumpkin lattes, and some very special baked goods, for three Moonbright residents looking for love—whether they know it or not—the spookiest thing will be how magical romance can suddenly be … I'm really happy to see a fall-themed book. We don't get enough of them. What a wonderful time for a romance. I know it's one of my favorites. What's also my favorite is anthologies. First, I'm able to finish the whole story pretty quickly, and second, I can often read a new author to me. This time there is no new authors but ones I really enj

Sunday Spotlight

Image
This year myself along with  Born to Read Books   are doing a few new posts. I love changing things up and around. From now on Sunday's will be Sunday spotlight, where I will talk about all things books or share a book with you. You get the idea!  Since fall is around the corner and I'm having to find things to do just so I don't decorate for it I thought I'd talk about if your reading subject, genre or general type of reading material changes when fall comes around?  I have a friend ( Cyndi @ Born to Read Books ) that use to read more paranormal romance during October. She loves Halloween. It's her jam!  I know during the Christmas season many of us read Christmas stories but I've often wondered about when we start to hit fall. Do you read say more suspense leaving the lighter reading for the summer or do you read it all year long but add more of a certain type of genre at different times of the year?  Unfortunately being a reviewer means I read most

WTF Friday

Image
This is something new we (myself along with  Born to Read Books ) are doing this year. It's where we ask...wtf about something that's bothering us. Fun right! So here is what I want to talk about today. I want to talk about series that go from papers into hardcovers There is nothing I hate more than when you are like 12 books into a series and they (the publishers) decided to start going to hardcover. If you are like me you don't want to pay hardcover prices. I buy a ton of books and wouldn't be able to do that if I started buying hardcovers.  So because I'm cheap ( I admit to it) I sometimes have to wait 6 months to a year before the book comes out in paperback. Which then causes me to get behind and then sometimes I get caught up with reading other authors and it becomes a thing. You know, where you find yourself in the whole being behind. Hate it!  So, am I the only one who this pisses off?

Ruby Keller is going rogue, or at least that’s the hashtag she’s using to document her vacation: #RubyGoesRogue. Illness kept her confined to her bedroom for much of her childhood, and as a result, she’s always played it safe, hiding behind her laptop and overanalyzing every decision. When a friend’s wedding takes her to London, she decides to push herself out of her comfort zone and take an uncharted adventure on her own...no laptop, no itinerary, and no one to get in her way. A chance run-in with a handsome British stranger was definitely not on the agenda… Flynn Bowen travels the globe for his family’s chain of upscale hotels and resorts. He’s struggled to find his place within the business, so when his parents allow him to oversee the construction of a new location in Dubai, he’s determined not to let them down. When he meets Ruby, he’s enchanted by her passion and bravery, not to mention the chemistry between them. If circumstances were different, he could fall for this vivaci
