(Torturous for those of us who live in the South, anyway.)   Normally this time of year, I’m eagerly packing for, or have just returned from, my usual check-your-brain-at-the-door beach vacation. You know—the all-inclusive kind with swim-up bars and palapas a stone’s throw from the ocean’s edge. Unfortunately, this summer threw me one too many curveballs and put a kink in my Mexican paradise plans. So, this year I’m improvising and leveraging this beautiful little thing I’ve honed to a fine art over many Christmas seasons… Now, at Christmas, my staycation consists of at least seven days spanning from Christmas Eve to the day after New Year’s, and the only productive items allowed on my schedule during that time are: Baking sweets.
