Welcome back to #featurefriday. Here's the  link  to the schedule for our #featurefriday posts. Make sure to also visit  Cyndi @ Born to Read Books  she too does this post. This week is #freakout Today I'm going to share one of my biggest freakouts. I HATE when we are waiting for a new book from an author and hear nothing. When I say nothing I mean nothing. Nothing from the author, publisher, and even on retailer sites.  As readers, we do at times expect too much from an author but it's also a business. Authors don't write for free so if they want our money then we shouldn't have to wait years to hear something.  Now, I don't think that they owe us their lives but I do think that we are owed an "I'm not going to be writing any more for the next few years" I get tired of checking websites to see what the hell is going on. It just makes me not want to read those authors ever again.  Question, do you feel that authors owe us at least a message to say

Review: Highland Treasure by Lynsay Sands

Image
After escaping from the English soldiers who attacked her home and imprisoned her in a dungeon, Lady Elysande de Valance is grateful for the rugged Scots who are escorting her to safety in the Highlands. Even with danger dogging their every step, she hadn’t expected to welcome the strong comforting embrace of their leader, Rory Buchanan. They say he’s a healer, but she finds the heat of his touch does so much more... Let his brothers get married—Rory is too busy tending to the sick to be bothered with wooing a bride. But when he is tasked with accompanying a family friend’s “treasure” to the Highlands, he is surprised to learn the treasure is a beautiful woman on the run—and even more surprised to discover bruises hidden by her veil. Rory makes it his mission to tend to her injuries and protect her, but the thought of losing her makes him realize that perhaps it is his heart that is most in need of healing…   Finally! That's how I feel. We've finally have gotten Rory's book

Review: Roman Will Fall by Cynthia Eden

Image
She can’t work with him. They’ve been partners for less than a week, and Roman Smith (if that even was his real last name!) is already driving Harper Crane absolutely insane. His list of faults is a mile long. Roman is secretive, controlling, and far too sexy. Okay, the sexiness doesn’t matter. It can’t matter. What matters is that Roman never listens to orders, he is far too quiet and intense, and Harper is pretty sure that he is up to some seriously shady side business. He isn’t supposed to want his new training partner. Roman has spent his life in the darkness. He is far too well acquainted with evil, and working at Wilde? Well, joining the security and protection firm is supposed to be the first step to turning things around in his world. The first step to becoming someone new. But some habits are hard to shake. And Roman knows that his way too beautiful trainer, Harper, is already suspicious of him. Yeah, so…she is right to be suspicious. Until recently, he has been the bad guy in

Review: Reunited on Dragonfly Lane by Annie Rains

Boutique owner Sophie Daniels certainly isn't looking to adopt a dog the day veterinarian Chase Lewis convinces her to take in Comet. A rambunctious puppy with a broken leg may not be the best choice for a first-time pet owner. And house calls from the handsome doctor—her high school sweetheart who's just moved back to Sweetwater Springs—may not be the best choice for her heart either. Chase has come home to help his nephew but finds that he's forgotten just how much he enjoys small-town life. However, sooner or later, he's going to have to face the past and his unresolved feelings for Sophie. Now that Comet needs both their help, Chase is going to let the four-legged matchmaker work his canine magic. Then Chase will prove to Sophie that first love is even better the second time around. I have to start off by saying that I hate when a series ends. It's like saying goodbye to old friends. Here's my dilemma,  I also love starting new series by my favorite authors.
