Review Tour: A Highlander Walks Into a Bar by Laura Trentham

Image
Isabel Buchanan is fiery, funny, and never at a loss for words. But she is struck speechless when her mother returns from a trip to Scotland with a six-foot-tall, very handsome souvenir. Izzy’s mother is so infatuated by the fellow that Izzy has to plan their annual Highland Games all by herself. Well, not completely by herself. The Highlander’s strapping young nephew has come looking for his uncle… Alasdair Blackmoor has never seen a place as friendly as this small Georgia town—or a girl as brilliant and beguiling as Izzy. Instead of saving his uncle, who seems to be having a lovely time, Alasdair decides he’d rather help Izzy with the Highland Games. Show her how to dance like a Highlander. Drink like a Highlander. And maybe, just maybe, fall in love with a Highlander. But when the games are over, where do they go from here? When I start a new series by a well-loved author I go into it both elated and scared to death. I also have a little sadness thrown in too.  I don&

Review: Don't Give Me Butterflies by Tara Sheets

Image
As the Queen of Impulsive Decisions, Kat Davenport has found herself without a job or a place to live. So settling on Pine Cove Island isn't the sanest choice--meaning it's perfect. Like the mysterious Holloway cousins, Kat has her own unique gift. In her case, it's a knack for communicating with animals. Which makes getting hired at the local animal shelter feel like kismet. Especially when she finds a room to rent at a nearby lavender farm--complete with a sweet landlord and her brawny grandson--a guy who happens to give Kat an all-too-familiar flutter in her stomach... Jordan Prescott isn't back in Pine Cove to find romance. He's here to sell the family farm, a fact that bewilders Kat. A former foster kid, she can't understand why he'd give up his childhood home. So when the big-hearted beauty starts bringing home strays from the shelter, Jordan is suddenly her adversary. Until their fiery disagreements turn into fiery kisses... Now Kat is fall

Sunday Spotlight

Image
This year myself along with  Born to Read Books   are doing a few new posts. I love changing things up and around. From now on Sunday's will be Sunday spotlight, where I will talk about all things books or share a book with you. You get the idea!  Since we are almost out of July I'll be doing my last Christmas in July post. I really enjoyed the cool thoughts of winter when it's been so hot out.  So let's talk Christmas. What are some of the things you like best about the holiday? I love the decor and being with family plus all the fun books I read. Each year I look forward to them.  Share with us all a good holiday memory.

Friday Favorites

Image
So as you can see I've added something a little different this year. On Friday Favorites I'll be talking about book-related issues that are favorites of mine.  Remember I do this along with my BFF  @ Born to Read Books Since I'm sticking with my Christmas in July theme as much as I can I thought I'd share a book from a series that I truly love. Miracle at Christmas in #7.5 in Mason's Christmas, Colorado series. If you haven't read this series you really should. It's so good. All her books are though. And check out her covers they are so good! So, have any of you read her before? If so, what's your favorite book or series?

Review, Release Blitz & Giveaway Tour: Cowboy Up by Stacy Finz

Cash, Jace, and Sawyer: Three cousins sharing an inheritance of five hundred acres of prime California ranch land—and a whole lot of surprises . . . Cash Dalton is no rancher. He’s an FBI agent—or at least he was, until he left a haunting case behind him and a load of guilt in front of him. Now it turns out he’s also a father—to a twelve-year-old girl he didn’t know he had. Clearly, it’s no time for a new romance, especially not with Aubrey McAlister, who’s renting the cottage on Dry Creek Ranch. She doesn’t even seem to like him. Still, there’s nothing wrong with looking . . . After calling off her wedding, Aubrey is trying to focus on her interior design career and avoid the fact that she’s the center of small-town gossip. Clearly, it’s no time for a new romance, especially not with brooding Cash. Though she does find him sexy as hell. And he has softened since his daughter arrived—enough for Aubrey to help decorate her room—and even try to get Cash to open up about the ch

Review: The Seekers by Heather Graham

Image
Kerri Wolf has joined the crew of The Seekers, a show that searches for paranormal phenomena, as they explore a supposedly haunted old inn on the road between Philadelphia and Harrisburg. The place is famous for its warm welcome—and infamous for being the site of an ax murder rampage in the 1920s. They’ve barely begun when a very real dead body is discovered in the basement. As a nonfiction author, Kerri is supposed to be the rational one, but she can’t explain a terrifying apparition that seems to be both a threat and a warning. Former detective Joe Dunhill knows what she’s going through—the strange gift of being able to see and talk to the dead is a struggle he shares. A new member of the FBI’s Krewe of Hunters, he’s on the team investigating the disturbing death. The town is steeped in old-fashioned superstition, and the deeper Joe and Kerri plunge into the dark secrets of the inn, the closer they get to a devastating truth. Will a bloody history be repeated? Or can the spirits
