Review: The Charmer in Chaps by Julia London

Cimarron County knows the youngest son of the fabled Prince family as a womanizing hell-raiser, but Luca has another side to him. He intends to turn the overworked pasture land his father left him back to its natural beauty. There's just one problem--a woman with sparkling eyes and more fight than a barnyard cat is grandfathered into some acreage on his portion of Three Rivers Ranch. After years of living in foster homes, Ella has exactly three things to her name: A dog, a pig, and the rundown house she just inherited. Luca may not remember her from high school, but she definitely remembers him. He is as seductive as he was then, but Ella isn't about to fall for his flirting--if only she could stop melting at his touch. What begins as a game of seduction for Luca quickly turns into something more, but Ella has learned the hard way to trust no one but herself--especially when it comes to her deepest secret. Yet the closer Luca gets to Ella, the more he wants to be the one she

Sunday Spotlight

This year we, myself along with  Born to Read Books   are doing a few new posts. I love changing things up and around. From now on Sunday's will be Sunday spotlight, where I will talk about all things books or share a book with you.  When do you read? Today I want to talk about when you read. Are you an all-day reader or only at night. Maybe you read in the morning. Or maybe you only a few times a week.  I will admit I read any chance I get. If I'm waiting for the water to boil I'm reading a book. Soaking dishes, reading a book. I can't help myself. I even read while waiting for my daughter to go the washroom at Target when we were leaving. I like to carry a book with me just in case.  So what about you?

Future Friday

Image
So as you can see I've added something a little different this year. On future Friday I'll be talking about books that are coming soon that I'm looking forward to. Remember I do this along with my fellow BFF  @ Born to Read Books Amazon  |  Barnes & Noble To Tame a Wild Cowboy is book #7 in Wilde's Cupid, Texas series. I've really enjoyed this series and can't wait to read this one. It's out on May 21st. Have any of you read her before?  Share with us a book that you are looking forward to reading!

Review: Hot to the Touch by Jaci Burton

Firefighter Jackson Donovan doesn't look back—as a rule. So when his past comes roaring back to life in the form of not-so-damsel-in-distress Becks Benning, the last thing he wants to do is relive old times. No matter how tempting she makes it seem... Now thanks to his two interfering brothers, Becks is living with them while she looks for a new place and tries to pick up the pieces of her tattoo business that went up in flames. Which means a grown up, smokin' hot Becks is in his house, sharing meals, and digging up old wounds. And despite his better judgment, the more time he spends with this smart, artistic, incredible woman the more he wants her in his bed—and his future. Becks always had it bad for Jackson. Unfortunately for her, not much has changed—he's still honorable, hard-working, sexy as sin—and closed off. But there's more than one way to get to a man's heart and if Jackson doesn't want to recall old memories, she'll just have to help him

This year we, myself along with  Born to Read Books   are doing a few new posts. I love changing things up and around. From now on Sunday's will be Sunday spotlight, where I will talk about all things books or share a book with you.  I would love to share with you a book that I loved when it came out. I was so disappointed when we only got two books from her and then she moved on to writing YA.  I totally loved this book and wished she wrote me romantic suspense books. She has another one... This one is good too just doesn't have the same impact as Bad Girl did.  I know they are older and most likely slightly dated but if you can read them. So good.  Have any of you read Michele Jaffe before. Maybe her historicals?

WTF Friday

Image
This is something new we (myself along with  Born to Read Books ) are doing new this year. It's where we ask...wtf about something that's bothering us. Fun right! So here is what I want to talk about today. Should books be written in series or should series be written in trilogies?  I ask this question because an author that I enjoy just recently wrote on her Facebook page how the series she starts with one publisher is now ending with another publisher.  It seems that the publisher who started the series decided they didn't want to publish any more books with only two books left. Thankfully another publisher picked her up but this really pisses me off.  It makes it really hard to invest in series when you never know if you get all the books promised in the series.  So my question is to you, should books in a series be written like trilogies. You know, three books at a time, never adding too much so if it ends you don't feel like you are missing any

Book Club Thursday: Throwback Thursday

Image
Welcome back to Book Club Thursday!  If you don't know what Book Club Thursday is let me explain, myself along with Born to Read Books once a week does joint posts under the heading Book Club Thursday. It's a lot of fun and I hope you'll join us weekly for it. Today we are doing: For this post, we are sharing old blog posts from both myself and fellow BCT blogger  Cyndi @ Born to Read Books . I love this idea because it allows me to share some of my favorite posts with you again for some, and for the first time for others.  It's Sunday the 14th as I set up this post for the upcoming Thursday. Yesterday it was about 60 during the day. Today we have cold and snow. Crazy I know but that's Chicago weather for you. Since it is snowing I thought I'd share an old review I did from an author I just LOVE! If you haven't yet read Debbie Mason you really need to.  To see the full post here's the  link . I do love her books and can't
