Damn...Too Many Books!

Welcome back! I once again pulled something off the bookshelf. It feels good to be able to get one of the million books off. I have a long way to go before my bookcases are empty. I'm not sure that will ever happen. So here's what I read...

Hope Burns
A Hope Novel #3
Jaci Burton
Jove
9/10/14

Molly Burnett dreads returning to her hometown of Hope for her sister’s wedding, especially knowing she’ll have to endure a weekend with the one man she never wants to see again. It’s only a couple of days, so Molly will try to forget her painful past with high school sweetheart Carter Richards. Because despite the bitter memories, she still can’t forget what they once meant to each other.

But when Molly is forced to extend her stay, Carter sees this as his second chance to do things right, to start over again with the only woman he’s ever loved. This time, he isn’t going to let Molly run. Together they’re going to confront the past and put it behind them, and hope for a future as bright as the flame that still burns hot between them.

I've really been trying very hard to finally start pulling some books off my shelves to read. Since I started my blog I seem to do more ARC then the books I buy. Yes, I want to keep supporting the authors I love, but I can't keep buying what I'm not reading.

Unless everyone once in a while I pull something off the shelve and read it.

See, there's always a loophole.

Right now I'm snickering at my own imagined silliness. Since I really won't stop buying the authors that I really love, I better start reading and reviewing.

Since I'm not that far behind on the Hope series by Jaci Burton, there is only three book after Hope Burns and the newest one, Love Me Again doesn't come out till May 2nd of 2017, I think I have some time to get caught up on the others.

Fingers crossed! I'm hoping, not guaranteeing.

I really enjoy this series. If you follow me then you know I'm a fan of small town. There is just something about knowing your neighbors. Or at least in your books. Does't always work well in real life.

Anyway, as I was saying that I really enjoy this series. The characters are funny with many layers. At times all isn't always going well for them, but that's how life is.

Right away I liked Carter. he is a very hard working sweet guy that you want to be around. In fact, many of the characters comment about how nice he is. I liked Molly too but I thought that she held onto the past way to long. She wouldn't allow herself to see that past with adult eyes. She kept looking back as a kid.

I understood it, but as a reader I sometimes got tired of it.

Because of that, whenever Cater and Molly took one step forward together, Molly took five back alone. There are a bunch of good times between them and that's what kept me reading. For the most part the story is very good and fun to read. I was glad that the book ended the way it did. Molly really needed to catch up to Cater.

If you haven't yet started this series you really should. I think you'll really enjoy it. Of all her series this one is my favorite.

If you've read Hope Burns or any other book by Jaci Burton I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading!

  4. oh I love the small town themes too. I try to be like you and read books from my own shelves and balance out my reading from the ARC's. I have found if I read them too much, I tend to risk getting into a reading slump.
