And even if he—maybe—has a few redeeming qualities buried deep, deep beneath his sexy, smiling surface.

So, I will admit when I went into this book, I wasn't overwhelming happy to do so. Confession time, when I first was introduced to Logan for me as a hero, he was a pass. I don't know why but he rubbed me the wrong way. But because it was Cynthia Eden wrote it there was no way I wouldn't be reading it.
For the first couple of chapters, I was still not sure then the cracks in Logan started to show, and we saw a different man. One I could understand much better. He shows the world what he's become but also what he needs to survive. Soon you watch him with the people who he really cares about and there is a real difference in him.
As the book progressed, I started to fall totally in love with Logan. Most of that has to do with the way he treats and totally loves Charolette. There are also his grandmother and Jake. But Charolette makes him a softer man. She brings out the side that wants to protect above all others and love so much it would kill him to let her go.
Happily, Charolette is the perfect woman for Logan. She understands him and makes him want to be a better person. But even Charolette who's believes in law & order has her limit when it comes to someone trying to hurt her Logan. That is the line they aren't allowed to cross. Logan brings into her life what she is missing and shows her a different way of thinking.
I am so picky with my giving 5 stars because to me the story has to rock my world in some way. I love most the books I read but when one makes me want to start back at the beginning so I can be rocked again then I have no choice but to give it 5 stars.
