Happy Valentine's Day: The Books & Characters That Bring Me Joy.

Today I want to share with you some of the books and characters and authors that make reading romance for me so good. The wonderful part of reading romance is that we all have our own ideas of what makes a romance. I know that what I like someone else might not and that's okay. What we do have in common is the love of reading romance books.

The Book
I have many books that I've loved. In fact, this year I've had four 5 stars books. That usually the amount I do for the whole year. Really, all you have to do is check out my Goodreads page to believe me. I love many books, but I have to say that Ransom by Julie Garwood is my all-time favorite. I read it once a year.

My favorite couple
Hands down my favorite couple has to be Eve Dallas and Roarke. These love each other so deeply but as much as they do they butt heads like no one else at times. It's one of the things I love about their marriage. It's not perfect. In fact, they are still having issues working out the finer details in a marriage. Eve can't even handle if he gives her a couple of bucks spending money. I think it's because she has fought so hard to take care of herself and doesn't want to slide into a person who can't. You are able to see how it both pisses off Roarke and makes him sad at the same time. The great thing is they don't like things fester. They fight it out and love and move on.

Favorite Series
This one is hard to limit it to a few. I'd have so many that I love. I will say that Shelly Laurenston's shifter series are some of my favorites. I also love Lynsay Sands Highland Brides is another favorite of mine. Debbie Mason's Highland Falls is author favorite of mine. And to round this out Laura Trentham's Cottonbloom series. I almost said her Highland, Gregoria series but I thought I had too many Highlands in the group.

Favorite Heroes
Brodick from Ramson honorable mention for Nick Buchanan (Heartbreaker) who's very much like his relative
Lucian Argeneau from Bite Me If You Can by Lynsay Sands. Love him he's so funny in a not funny way.
Johanna Lindsey has two of my favorite heroes, James Mallory from Gentle Rouge and Lachlan MacGregor from Love Me Forever. The way he calls her Kimber just makes my heart flutter.
Jonas Wyatt from Lion's Heat. There is not one like Jonas. He's just so...I mean...if you read it you get it.
Azagoth from Reaper. This one is a five-star book for me. I love it. What he does for the woman he loves, and his children rocked my world.

Heroines
Kimberly Richards from Love Me Forever. She is a tough stand-up lady.
Abby Everhart from Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge
Raylene Rosser from Tempting Fate. She is one of those people who have done some real crappy things, but you find that most of them where because she hadn't found her voice yet. She changes a lot in her own story.

Oh boy, after doing this post I realized two things. One it was fun, and I really need to do more like it. And two, I have so much more to share. I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
