Book Review: Love Me Again by Jaci Burton

When Loretta Simmons returns to Hope, Oklahoma, after a disastrous marriage, she’s determined to remain independent for the sake of her daughter. The only thing standing in her way is Deacon Fox—the man she loved and walked away from years ago.

Since Loretta owns the bookstore right next to his current renovation project, Deacon can’t escape the woman who broke his heart. Throw in her adorable little girl and one ridiculously oversized dog, and they’re almost a family. Only he can’t be that guy—what they had was once in a lifetime.

But love has a funny way of re-opening a door you thought was firmly closed…
I've really been enjoying this series. I have to say that this one has been one of my favorites. I totally loved Loretta and her daughter. Deacon is also a great character one that will grab your heart.

Deacon and Loretta broke up when they were very young. Once you get into the story you realize that most of Loretta's action as a young woman are ones, she felt that she had to make. Her parents ran her life and didn't give her much choice. Her actions back then are based on that.

Loretta is back in her hometown with her child, and she doesn't want to live in the past. Sadly, you have to face the past to move on sometimes.

What I loved about Deacon is that he might come off as gruff, but he also is the sweetest man, and you see that in the way he treats Loretta's little girl. He tries to distance himself at first but finds he can't stay away.

It takes them all time to deal with the past and realize they still love each other but they do, and I really enjoyed their story of growth and happiness. It's sprinkled in with the past characters we enjoy so much. This series is all about what I love with small-town romance.
