Reading Challenge 2023

A woman with no roots…

Naomi fled the cult-like nightmare of her childhood and learned to rely on one person—herself. Her resourcefulness keeps her alive during a catastrophe in the mountains, but it’s no help at all when it comes to Chaska Belcourt, the sexy EMT who saves her life. Raised to feel shame about her body and sex, she is putty in Chaska’s hands as he strips away her armor, exposing the vulnerable woman beneath, awakening desires in her that she’d been taught to ignore.

A kiss that changes everything…

Chaska Belcourt grew up on the reservation, the son of a hereditary Sun Dance chief. He left all of that behind for a new life in Colorado as an engineer with an aerospace firm and a member of the elite Rocky Mountain Search & Rescue Team. He doesn’t share his sister’s belief that fate led him to find Naomi. But from the first moment their lips touch, he can’t get enough of her.

A love that transforms…

As the passion between them turns into something more, Chaska is forced to admit that his sister is right. There’s no other way to explain the depth of his feelings for Naomi—or the fact that he and his people might hold the key to unraveling the mysteries of her past. But she will have to learn to trust again before the two of them can find the answers she needs—and claim this once-in-a-lifetime love.
I've been so bad at reviewing this series. The fun part is that I really loved it. What can I say I'm a lazy reviewer at times.

Tempting Fate is the 4th book in the series and I just loved it. Both the main characters are ones you'll enjoy and want to learn more about. You've met Chaska in the prior books and have been wanting his story. He's the type of guy that the ladies flock to.

What I really liked about him is that he's a very caring person who tries his best to help people. He wants his forever and can't seem to find it.

Poor Naomi hasn't had the best life. You can't help but feel for her. Her first meeting with Chaska and his sister isn't what you'd call a party. She runs into some people who aren't what you'd call good and gets very hurt. Thankfully she gets recused by Chaska and his sister.

What I loved about his romance is that they both taught each other something about themselves. Chaska helped Naomi learn that it's okay to be a strong sexual woman. That it's not bad. And she taught him to love and give his heart to her.

They are both perfect for each other and right away you'll feel the pull that draws them to each other. You want, no, need them to find love and their HEA. They have a few ups and downs and life isn't always smooth, but in the end, they figured out what was the most important part of happiness.
