Review: Falling Hard by Pamela Clare

Ellie Meeks promised her pilot husband that if anything happened to him, she would live her life to the fullest. Three years later, she is still alone, raising the twins he never met. She has no interest in dating or meeting men—until one snowy night when a stranger helps her get her sick kids safely home. That stranger turns out to be a former Army Ranger and a member of the elite Rocky Mountain Search & Rescue Team. He’s also tall, rugged… and irresistibly sexy.

All it takes is one kiss…

Jesse Moretti came to Colorado to get Iraq out of his head, using the adrenaline of extreme sports and high-risk mountain rescues to keep his mind off the past. But getting involved with Ellie might be the riskiest thing he’s ever done. It’s not just their explosive chemistry. There’s something about Ellie that gets inside him, opening him to feelings he’s tried hard to ignore.

When passion ignites…

Ellie feels alive in Jesse’s arms and happier than she ever thought she’d feel again. But their relationship comes at a price for him, and soon Ellie sees that she must help Jesse fight the demons of his past to protect the love of a lifetime—and save the heart of a hero.
This is a series that I've really enjoyed. I wish the author would do another series like this. Not that her suspense isn't good, it's just that I liked the straight contemporary more.

Falling Hard is the third book in her Colorado High Country. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this one. I'm always a fan of romances with kids in them. They can really help to make for a good story. Kids bring reality to it.

This one starts off so good. Ellie is working really hard to take care of herself and her kids after her husband passes. She's a strong woman who feels she's loved deeply once and can't see herself falling in love again.

Jesse is a great guy. You won't be able to not fall in love with him. He's such a great hero. Even though he wants nothing really to do with Ellie he can't help stepping in when she's at her lowest. She's got too sick kids and needs help. He's there to help him even when she warns him he could get sick. He says he will be fine.

What do you think will happen?

I love how these two interact with each other. I also love how he treats Ellie's kids. He really cares about them and you can see it in every action he does with them. All of them would make for a perfect family if Jess could learn to deal with his past. He's letting it hold him back from what he deserves.

This is a wonderful story that you'll just love. I found myself at times laughing and crying at the same time. It's one of those stories that pulls at you throughout it. So well written. I loved also visiting with the other characters from prior books and upcoming ones. The relationship between the people who are part of the Rocky Mountian Search & Rescue is almost as important as Jesse and Ellie's.

This is a great series that I think you'll enjoy. Each book keeps getting better and better making for a wonderful series. If you like sexy sweet hero's then this is your series. Any of you read her?
