To redeem her family’s disgraced name, Lady Louisa Scranton has decided to acquire a proper husband. He needs to be a man of fortune and highly respectable in order to restore both her family's lost wealth and reputation. She enters the Marriage Mart with all flags flying, determined to find the right bachelor.

But Louisa’s hopes are dashed when the Bishop of Hargate drops dead at her feet—and she is shockingly accused of murder! Soon, Louisa’s so-called friends begin shunning her, because the company of a suspected killer is never desirable in polite society.

The problem comes to the ears of Detective Inspector Lloyd Fellows, by-blow of the decadent Scottish Mackenzie family and an inspector for Scotland Yard. He has shared two passionate kisses with Lady Louisa–and vows to clear her name. For not only does he know she’s innocent, he recognizes he’s falling for the lovely lady.

Fellows is Louisa's only hope of restoring her family's honor—and it is he alone who intrigues Louisa in a way that maybe even more scandalous than murder…

For those of us that have been enjoying this series will know that this is one of the books, we've been waiting for. My biggest complaint is that it was only a 194-page novella. I so wanted more of Llyod. Not that I didn't enjoy the story I did, I just like I said, wanted more. I'd have loved a bit more interaction between the brothers. Daniel the nephew did play a big part and I loved all that. It was nice getting to know him better with his book coming up.

Llyod has been one of those figures that since the first time you meet him you want, no need to know more. He's got a great backstory that is important in making him the person he is. His sense of duty and honor shine above all else. He's also will to admit when he's wrong. All great things in a hero.

I also really enjoyed Louisa. She's stuck with her father's misdeeds and is paying for them unfairly. She's a sweet woman that I really liked. With her being blamed for murder she has no choice but to count on the one man that means the most to her.

It was fun enjoying how poor Llyod acted around Lousia. He didn't think he was good enough for her but still loved her. I love how he's one of those by the books kind of guy but for her, he'd do whatever had to be done to make sure she didn't go to jail. I know it would kill him to break the law but he'd do it for her.

I also enjoyed learning how close Llyod has gotten with his nephew. It was fun hearing Daniel call him uncle all the time reminding hin who and what he was in his life. This is a wonderful story and I enjoyed the mystery in it. I liked how they figured out who did what. I also loved that Ian helped. Those how have read the series will understand why. If you're looking to read this story make sure to do it in order. Adds to the characters. Have you read her?
