Book Club Thursday: Golden Oldie

Welcome back to Book Club Thursday!

This week we are doing...

This is one of those posts that I love doing. There are so many books that I read in the past that never got reviewed here on the blog. But now with this new post for this year's Book Club Thursday I'll be able to share a few with you.
A Desperate Young Mother

Rachel Stone's bad luck has taken a turn for the worse. With an empty wallet, a car's that's spilling smoke, and a five-year-old son to support, she's come home to a town that hates her. But this determined young widow with a scandalous past has learned how to be a fighter. And she'll do anything to keep her child safe—even take on. . .

A man With No Heart

Gabe Bonner wants to be left alone, especially by the beautiful outcast who's invaded his property. She has a ton of attitude, a talent for trouble, and a child who brings back bad memories. Yet Rachel's feisty spirit might just be heaven-sent to save a tough, stubborn man.

Dare To Dream

Welcome to Salvation, North Carolina—where a man who's forgotten what tenderness means meets a woman with nothing to lose. here two endearing lovers will set off on a funny, touching journey of the heart. . .to a place where dreams just might come true.

I can't believe how long ago I read this. I'm pretty sure I have my copy signed by her. This is one of my favorite series by her. If you haven't yet tried it you really should.

I think why I liked this one so much is because of the characters. You won't be able to not feel for both Rachel and Gabe. Both have some horrible things happen in their past. More so for poor Gabe but Rachel's life hasn't been as easy as people think.

Both of them for their own reasons are hiding from the world. Rachel has a child she needs to provide for but is finding that so hard to do. No one likes her without really knowing her. They blame her for things she had no control over and didn't even know what was happening.

Gabe is hiding from the world instead of dealing with his pain and trying to move on with life. I get that his life feels incomplete and that he doesn't feel like he can go on but he needs to try.

Together they really work if only they'll take a chance and give a little. Sometimes taking that first step is the hardest.

As a whole, this is a wonderful story that I really enjoyed. In fact like loved them all. I might have to pull out the series and reread it. Like I mentioned if you haven't yet read them you really should. Read the series in order it works better that way.

Have you read a book by Susan Elizabeth Phillips? IF so what's your favorite book or series of hers?
