WTF Friday
This is something new we (myself along with Born to Read Books) are doing this year. It's where we ask...wtf about something that's bothering us. Fun right! So here is what I want to talk about today.
Have you noticed that we've gone back to cartoonish covers?
I've noticed it lately and thought to myself, haven't we done that before? Sure, everything's a circle but I'm not feeling the cartoonish covers this time around.
They don't call to me like before. In fact, when they came out back in the day I really liked them. Now, not so much.
So share, how do you feel about cartoonish covers? Love them or not?
I have seen it on a few covers and I hate it.

DeleteOh I agree. I so hate these new style of covers. And yeah you are right in that the older ones weren’t bad either. But these are taking over the genre and are to appeal to new readers. But another flaw in these is that chick lit is being mixed in so it’s hard to tell what is romance and what isn’t. I avoid books that have these covers. Give me abs, pretty dress, sexy couple or heck a sword or real estate any day lol
ReplyDeleteRight! I hate trying to figure out what's romance or chick-lit, or even women's fiction with romantic elements. I already spend a ton of money on books don't make me waste more.
