WTF Friday

This is something new we (myself along with Born to Read Books) are doing this year. It's where we ask...wtf about something that's bothering us. Fun right! So here is what I want to talk about today.

I want to talk about series that go from papers into hardcovers

There is nothing I hate more than when you are like 12 books into a series and they (the publishers) decided to start going to hardcover. If you are like me you don't want to pay hardcover prices. I buy a ton of books and wouldn't be able to do that if I started buying hardcovers.

So because I'm cheap ( I admit to it) I sometimes have to wait 6 months to a year before the book comes out in paperback. Which then causes me to get behind and then sometimes I get caught up with reading other authors and it becomes a thing. You know, where you find yourself in the whole being behind. Hate it!

So, am I the only one who this pisses off?

  1. You are not the only one. I will most times wait until the paperback comes out...but I do have an entire bookshelf filled with hardcover books because I have broke down and bought a lot of them over the years.

    1. Sadly I do too. I just don't do it as much anymore. I just read too many authors.

  2. That is so obnoxious. Or when it goes hardcover to regular or trademark size. Or *gasp* even just to ebook. The price difference to hardback sucks but I also just hate that difference in size for one series. I want them all the same.
