NOT ALL FAIRYTALES END AT MIDNIGHT
Elle Davenport is no princess—she just dresses up as one for her job at a local theme park. But when she gets the call that she’s won a contest to live and work at a real-life castle in Virginia, she finally feels like she’s found her calling. If she’s successful, her venture could become permanent, and that sounds like Elle’s idea of the perfect modern-day fairytale. There’s only one problem: the castle’s grumpy—and sexy—new owner wants her gone as soon as possible.
Theo Langdon never imagined he’d inherit the title of Earl of Highcastle so young. With his grandfather’s recent death, he needs to sell Rosemont Castle so he can return to London. If only he wasn’t butting heads with the vivacious new property manager at every corner. Although he’s got a life waiting for him in London, Rosemont Castle suddenly feels a lot like home, thanks to Elle. As the clock winds down on her time at the castle, he’ll have to reconcile his obligations in London with the American woman who’s stolen his heart.
From the first book I read of Lacey I was hooked. She's one of those authors that just write the type of books that I want to read.
It's a match made in heaven.
When she started with the self publishing I was a little worried. Sometimes it seems that author that self publish either lose their writing momentum or that their books suffer for it. I'm glad to say that hasn't happened with Lacey.
She's still writing like before giving us wonderful stories.
This new series by her, Almost Royal, sounded so cute. I couldn't wait to read it. The whole idea appealed to me. Or what I understood of the idea did. I kinda wish the author was a little clearer on what the girls wanted to do.
I didn't let that bother me and kept reading. I'm so glad that I did. I really liked Elle and her friends. They are so much fun. To give everything up and move away for a dream. I'm not sure I could do that.
I also liked Theo and wanted so badly for him to keep his small town roots. In a way he was so conflicted and pulled in to many directions. He wanted to do the right thing for his family but is it the right thing for him?
So much fun stuff happen in this story and I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed it and want more of this series. NOW! I will have to wait till 2019. I'm sighing here. I really have to learn not to rush things.
If you've read If the Shoe Fits or any other book by Rachel Lacey I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading! ♡
I am glad to hear that her writing is still solid since going self publishing. I get nervous with that too and I have only read her published titles. So I just might try this one and see if I like it too.
ReplyDeleteThis one is cute. I like the idea of the series.
