Darcy Stone is game for anything — except sexy Navy veteran and physical therapist A.J. Colten, the guy who'd rejected her when she'd needed him most. Now the shoe is on the other foot and he needs her to play nice and help him secure grants for his patients. Unfortunately, Darcy can't refuse. She needs the money to fund her passion project: rescuing S&R dogs and placing them with emotionally wounded soldiers.

A.J. admits it — Darcy is irresistible. But he's already been battle-scarred by a strong-willed, vivacious, adventurous woman like Darcy, and he's not making the same mistake twice—until he and Darcy are forced to fake a relationship. Growing closer than they'd ever imagined possible, Darcy and AJ have to ask themselves: how much between them is pretend? What's the real thing? And where does it go from here?

I might be pushing this one a little for the challenge I picked. Neither of them are doctors but he's a physical therapist so that's in the medical field and I decided to go with that.

I love Jill Shalvis' books. She always makes me laugh and even tear up a time or two. I do get slightly behind on her but I am trying to get caught up. The woman has written a ton of books.

I'm almost finished with this series, one more book to go after this one so fingers crossed I do that before the end of the year. See how I said only to cross your fingers not to hold your breath, one you wouldn't make it through.

I really liked this story. There are a few layers to it that you don't see right away. At first you feel that Darcy is one type of person but as the story unfolds you get to know more about her and what she's about. She's not what she appears to be.

You'll also enjoy A.J. He's such a good guy. He does for Darcy what most people wouldn't or couldn't do. He does have his flaws so he's not perfect but I wouldn't throw him out of the house for not picking up his socks.

Together at times these two are like oil and water. They blend for a few seconds then start to separate. Most often or not it's because they can't really talk to each other and be honest about how they feel. They finally do get their act together and when they do they find out just how much they care for each other.

This is a fun, heart breaking at times story. If you haven't read this series yet give it a try! Thanks for visiting and happy reading! ♡
