Home is where her heart is...

When Presley Christensen returns to Whiskey Creek with her little boy after two years away, she has completely changed her life. She's made peace with her past and overcome the negative behavior that resulted from her difficult childhood. Now she's back in the small town that was the closest thing to "home" she ever knew—the town where she can be with the sister who's her only family.

There's just one catch. Aaron Amos still lives in Whiskey Creek, at least until he moves to Reno to open a branch of the Amos brothers' auto body shop. And no matter how hard she's tried, Presley hasn't been able to get over him. Seeing him again makes the longing so much worse. But she hopes she can get through the next few months, because she can't fall back into his arms…or his bed. She's come too far to backslide now. And there's a secret she's been guarding—a secret she'll do anything to protect.

If you haven't yet read this story you might not want to read my review.

I am so glad we have this on the challenge this year. Because otherwise I really think that I would still be stuck at this book. Having this challenge allows me to review the book and move on. Silly I know, but it's what works for me.

I hate not finishing a book.

I want to start off with that I really love this series by Brenda Novak. It might boarder on women's fiction a little but still have enough romance in it to keep on the romance side for me. Her characters have so many layers and I've enjoyed learning them all.

Each of the books touches the prior ones and future ones to come. It's a great series.

So think how bad I felt when I couldn't read Come Home to Me. I've been trying to for years but can't seem to get over one thing...the women's lies. Yes, in other romances we've had these lies but not like this. It's just horrible. I have to tell you if it was me, instead of wanting to attach myself to one of these sisters I'd move the hell out of town!

I really loved Dylan in his story When Snow Falls but have to say in this one I was very disappointed. He was very unfair to his brother and treated him so badly. Hell, everyone did. Not only did Dylan treat him horrible, Cheyenne and Presley lie to both Aaron and Dylan. Big lies, not tiny white lies, HORRIBLE LIES!!!

See, told you I had issues with it.

Here Presley has Aaron's child but doesn't tell him with okay I could have dealt with. Secret baby is a old trope but one still used today. But to have Cheyenne (who I loved in her book and others) lie to Dylan and let him treat his brother horrible! It was too much. If I was Dylan I might have left her for the lies she told.

Horrible, horrible, horrible!

I kinda wish I could have finished it so I knew how it turned out. Of course because of the romance part I know Aaron and Presley will work it all out and Dylan will forgive Cheyenne so I guess I shouldn't wonder after all.

One good think came out of this, I can now move on to the next book in the series. Hell, she stop writing any more in the series I think last year. I'm way behind. Hope I didn't ruin this book for anyone, I did try to stop you from reading this review at the top.

If you have read it I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading! ♡
