Luke Brannigan lives for the adrenaline rush, which makes his job as a filmmaker of extreme sporting adventures the perfect career choice. He loves to travel the world, risking life and limb to capture the most amazing shot. Some might say he's running away from something…or someone.

When Luke's billionaire father Colin Brannigan dies unexpectedly, Luke is shocked to receive title to the mountain lodge where his parents first met. Having been estranged from his father for years, Luke has no idea why his dad picked him to inherit this very personal piece of property…until he realizes the pretty blonde manager is Lizzie Parker, his former college girlfriend.

Luke and Lizzie have an emotional and heartbreaking past, but will they have a future? Will love be Luke's greatest adventure yet?

I have to admit that I've never read a book by Barbara Freethy. This was my first one. For years I've seen her books and thought about trying her but I never did. That is until this series. For some reason this once called to me. The series, not so much the book. I remember watching the movie when I was a kid.

So when the series came out I knew I needed to get it. And I did and quickly forgot all about them. I do that a lot. For me things on my kindle are sometimes easily forgotten. New year, new goals!

Now that I started this series I'm so glad that I did. I really loved Luke and most of the time I liked Lizzie too. I will admit sometimes she set me off. This is a second chance book so you know they already know each other and had a prior relationship. So when they first see each other again you get the impression that Luke broke Lizzie's heart. Wait to you learn more. I know from my words you can kinda get it, I just do want to tell it all.

I did like how Lizzie dealt with her niece, she gave up everything for her and showed her the love and support she needed.

As a whole Luke is a good story that's well written with characters you will enjoy and want to learn more about. I'm looking forward to the next brother and his story.

If you've read Luke or any other books by Barbara Freethy I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading! ♡
