It's been a while since I've read Caridad Pineiro so when I saw One Summer Night come up for review I thought I'd give it a try.

I don't always care to look at the blurb of the book I'm reviewing because I like to go in cold. Sometimes I feel you can learn way to much from the blurb. So when I started this one I didn't even know who the characters were.

Unfortunately that didn't work out for me. I felt so lost, like I was just dropped into the story and placed where I didn't belong. I had no choice but to read the blurb.

That happening doesn't mean I will automatically not like the book, it just mean...I was lost.

It happens to the best of us. After reading the blurb I got the picture somewhat and figured out who the main characters were. All helpfully for me to continue. I will tell you I really liked Owen and Maggie, I could feel their attraction jump off the pages of the book. You knew these two are meant for each other, now if they could only let the past go and move on.

Don't get me wrong, they have a past. It's hard to like someone when your whole family hates their family.

The story moved quickly and you moved with it. By the end of the story I forgot the beginning and feeling lost but I did feel somewhat that the story could be more original. Doesn't mean that I didn't like it, just that it's nothing new. Sometimes stories work out that way and you have to pray that the characters help you through it.

In One Summer Night that's just what happened. I liked the characters so much I didn't care about the plot. I'm glad I read One Summer Night and met both Owen and Maggie. I really liked Maggie's friends too so I will be trying Laws of Attractions next!

If you've read One Summer Night or any other book by Caridad Pineiro I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting with me and happy reading! ♡

    1. If I'm buying something I will. But when I review I like to not know the plot and enjoy things as they happen.

  2. I've read one of her books called Kissed By A Vampire and I liked it. This sounds good but I tend to read paranormal most often.

  4. Such a colorful cover. I've got one of hers but have never read them. Hopefully it does better with jumping in since I'm anti-blurb.
