After the success of the Heartbeat reunion, Oliver Heart wants a shot at a solo singing career. But you don’t get famous without publicity so he decides to agree to fake a romance with former pop sensation Belinda Beal, who is desperate to revive her career or face financial ruin. Oliver and Belinda are already experts at playing this silly game with the paparazzi back in their glory days and definitely hate the public displays of fake affection.
It's Gotta Be You is the second book in LuAnn McLane's new series Heartthrob. I'm really enjoying these brothers. They are so funny together. The little zingers that give each other shows the long relationship they've had.
If you follow me then you know I wasn't happy with Arabella from All I Ever Wanted which is book one. I loved Grady, just not her. So I was hoping for more from this book. I know, that's ton's of pressure on a author. But she didn't know so...
I'm happy to say that It's Gotta Be You was much better in my eyes. I really enjoyed Oliver (a given since I didn't have any trouble with the brothers in the first book) and Belinda. I think as a whole their story is a good one. I enjoyed reading their story.
What I didn't enjoy was that I felt that this story slightly mimicked the first story. It's again a second chance story and the heroine needs money. That bothers me a little. Maybe if I knew that all the stories are going to be second chance ahead of time it won't bug me as much.
Even though those issues got to me I still enjoyed the story and I'm glad I read it. I would read the story in order so that you get the main thread about what these brothers are all about.
If you've read It's Gotta Be You or anything else by LuAnn McLane I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading! ♡
