Review: The Unyielding by Shelly Laurenston

Stieg Engstrom, Angriest Viking Ever, has got big problems. The human Viking Clans of earth are in danger of being obliterated—along with the rest of the world—and the only one who may be able to save them is a super pain-in-the-ass Crow. Most people annoy Stieg, but this is the one woman he really can’t stand…

Erin Amsel loves being a Crow! Why wouldn’t she when the other Viking Clans are so hilariously arrogant and humorless? She’s not about to let all that come to an end! She just didn’t expect to be shoulder to shoulder in battle with Stieg. Then again, he’s so easy to torment—and also kind of cute.

With the future of the world riding on them, Stieg knows he’ll have to put aside his desperate need to kiss the smirk right off Erin’s face. Wait. What? He didn’t mean that—did he? No! They have one goal: To conquer the idiots. Because nothing bugs Stieg more than when idiots win. If only he can keep himself from suddenly acting like one…

I knew this moment was coming and I can honestly say I wasn't prepared. I wasn't sure how Laurenston was going to handle the battle of all battles. I worried it wouldn't be up to my expectations.

Silly me!

I should have trusted Laurenston better. She rocks!

I loved The Unyielding the best of all three of the stories. I just really got into it and it kept me there. And really, how could I have not liked a story that stared Erin Amsel? I mean, really? If you've read the stories before this one you know who I'm talking about. If you haven't you don't know what you're missing.

This woman, (Erin) cracks me up. She has to be one of Laurenston's best characters next Bo. Again, if you don't know who he is...why the hell not! Do yourself a favor and look up all her books. You'll love them all.

I know this review makes it sound like I'm leaving out Stieg and I'm not. He too is a great character. I just like Erin slightly more. Both characters are memorable. You won't read this story and forget about them. They are so good together even when neither wants to really deal with any emotions. They just keep going on like there is nothing going on.

You have to love a couple like that.

Of course at some time they will have to deal with what they are feeling and they do it so well. You'll really love this story, I will tell you to read the two books before it because they lead up to this one. It will make the whole story line much better.

And because some much happens in this story I find that I can't really talk about it. I don't want to ruin anything for those who haven't read the stories and are going to get them now because of my review and those who have read all but this one and is waiting for it to come out.

I really believe I owe it to you be be vague. Saying that I do want you know that this is a wonderful story with tons of great moments, wonderful one liners and many humorous moments. Thanks for visiting and happy reading! ♡
