Review: The Gathering Dusk by Cynthia Eden

The Gathering Dusk
A Killer Instinct Novel #0.5

When untried FBI profiler Samantha Dark is face-to-face with a killer, there’s no room for fear. Her best weapon is her instincts. Those same dark impulses that allow her to get inside the mind of a murderer, to locate victims—or to pull the trigger before she’s next. She can’t afford to have those instincts clouded by anything…especially her far-too-sexy new partner.

Former SEAL Blake Gamble plays everything by the book. Except, of course, when it comes to the increasingly simmering attraction between them. But when a vengeful serial killer targets them both, Samantha once again reaches into the sinister, shadowed part of herself. Even as she begins to fear that the only way to catch this killer is to become one…

I always get so excited when I know of a favorite author starting a new series. I just can't wait to see what they have new for me. Yes, for me. It's my world and they all write for me. 😉 One of my favorite authors is Cynthia Eden. I really don't care what she writes, I read it.

So like I said, she starting a new series and I'm so excited to try it. Up first is The Gathering Dusk. Now this story is only about 70 pages give or take a few here or there. It starts out the series well. You get to know a little bit about Samantha & Blake who will also be the lead hero & heroine in After the Dark which is out on March 28th.

Not to worry, The Gathering Dusk is a complete story. You won't feel like you have to wait for After the Dark to finish the story. I really hate that!

After reading this story I can't wait to learn more about Samantha. You get a taste of her but don't really get to know her. You'll be left with so many questions. I love finding out those answers. The only thing you learn about Blake is that he sounds all tough and hot. Oh boy!!! I really need to read more about him.

I am going to tell you that if you plan to read After the Dark then you should read this first. Even though it's a complete story I have a feeling there might be clues of something in it for the next book. Don't quote me on this because as of yet I haven't read the next one. It's only a feeling I have. I haven't yet even read the blurb for the next book. I want to be surprised, Crazy I know.

For fans of Cynthia Eden this a be a good quick story for you for those who haven't yet tried her then this is the perfect sample of her work.

If you've read The Gathering Dusk or any other book by Cynthia Eden I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading!
