Book Club Thursday: Free Day
Welcome back to Book Club Thursday!
Today is our...
I was thinking about this when I was taking down my Christmas decorations...how often do you clean off your bookshelves of those older books that you know you will never read but have a ton of because of your addiction to reading?
I try to do it once a year. I buy way more books then I could ever read in a year. Not that it really matters what with the millions of ones that I have from the past that I won't get rid of.
Reading/book buying is probably the only addiction that you couldn't have a AA or should I say RA for. Just think about the meeting...
Me: "Hi, my name is Ann and I'm a reading addict.
Group: "Hi Ann"
Before I could return they greeting...
Group: "What do you read?"
Group: "Who's your favorite author?"
Group: "Did you read the latest Shalvis?"
I think you get the idea. I'd leave that meeting with a list as long as my arm. In fact, instead of calling it a RA meeting it's more like a book club.
We are sick, sick people. Not to worry, I'm not going to any doctor for it. I like that I buy to many books and talk about books all the time. Lets not forget that I also read whenever I have a free second.
So now that I've lost control of my own post lets get back to the original question, how often do you clean off your bookshelves of those older books that you know you will never read but have a ton of because of your addiction to reading?
Thanks for visiting and happy reading! 💓
1/26/17 Reading Challenge 2017
I find myself making space on my shelves with the best intentions but like you said, I just fill em right back up with newly purchased ones. Lol
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing. I find those authors that I haven't read anything by them in years and pack them away (that's close to getting rid of them) and buy new ones!
DeleteFun blog post. For some reason, I don't mind this addiction. If I had a bigger house, I would have a second addiction, more bookcases for my books! Book cases in every room, well, except the bathroom, lol.
ReplyDeleteI have way too many bookshelves. They are all over my home.
