For odd-girl-out Zoey Hodge, the best thing about Buckhorn, Kentucky, was leaving it behind. And now she’s back—at least until she can nurse her mother back to health and hightail it out of there anew. But there’s one person she doesn’t mind seeing again. Garrett Hudson was one of the few who was always kind to her. Now he’s a firefighter—still one of the good guys, but with a sexy alpha charm that’s tempting her inner bad girl.

In school, Zoey was smart, witty and unafraid to be herself. Garrett fell hard back then, and he’s falling even faster now. As far as he’s concerned, there are all kinds of reasons Zoey should stick around. Her pet grooming business. Her mom. And the chance for him to prove that he can be her real-life hero in every way that matters…

It seems like forever that I've been reading Lori Foster. Unfortunately in the last few years I've fell behind. That's why I was so glad to do her for our Catching Up on the Author post. Like I said, I'm way behind on her so I couldn't at first figure out which series I wanted to catch up on.

As I looked through my kindle, (I was to lazy to get up and look on my shelves) I noticed that I haven't read a Buckhorn story in a while so...I'm guessing you can figure out the rest of that sentence.

Garrett is the son of one of my favorite Buckhorn brothers, Morgan. Loved him! It kinda felt a little weird loving his son too but I got over it! 😉 Garrett just like his father is tough but only on the outside.

Right away he starts to fall for Zoey, of course they knew and liked each other when they were younger so it was easier to not feel like the love and romance was rushed. I would have to say that Zoey is one of my favorite female characters.

The woman cracked me up!

She did her best to always stay strong, even when it wasn't easy. She was just so sweet and caring. These two made for good romance.

I'm so glad to start getting caught up on this series and plan to read the other two stories soon. If you haven't yet tried this series you don't know what you are missing.

If you've read Back to Buckhorn or any other book by Lori Foster I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading!
