Sirens #1

The wild magic that brought them together is nothing compared to what they find in each other’s arms.
Lorelei Michaels, flamboyant lead vocalist of the all-female rock band The Sirens, has a passion for myths and legends. She just never expected to find herself actually living one.
While touring with the band, a Viking armband with an interesting history and a design known as the gripping beast throws her into a time warp full of Norsemen, macho attitudes and a lamentable lack of modern amenities.
Upon seeing the strange, beautiful woman being auctioned off, Erik Thorolfsson was mesmerized. Until the slave trader put his hands on her. With a roar of rage and sword drawn, he charged forward to take that which he wanted for his own. But he discovers owning her isn’t enough. He has to make her his – for all time.
It's been a while since I've read Claimed by the Wolf in 2009. I really loved it and kept waiting for the second book to come out and it never did. So I sort of pushed her aside. Of course she really hasn't written that much in the last few years so I haven't missed to much.
I had mixed thoughts about The Gripping Beast. First off, I hated the title. I don't know why. For me it's just not very good.
I might not have liked the title but I really liked the characters, okay I liked the all but at times Lorelei just got on my wrong side. She put me off at times. I liked Erik very much. Hot and sexy!
As a whole the story was okay. I didn't love it, but I also didn't hate it either. I might check out the other books in the series and see I like them a little better.
If you've read The Gripping Beast or any other books by Charlene Teglia I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading!

Yeah, not a fan of the title, but the cover isn't half bad. I've never this author but do have one of her books
ReplyDeleteThe cover is good, it's just the title. I enjoy her. She writes a pretty good story. I have a few more books of hers to read still.
DeleteI liked her wolf stories, I have to see if I have this one. The hero sounds sexy. Nice pick!
ReplyDeleteI really liked her wolves too! My favorites of hers.
DeleteI don't think I've seen her books before. Totally laughing on the title. Sometimes they really just hit you wrong. I had that with hero/heroine names in a recent one. I just couldn't.
