Review & Giveaway: The Darkest Seduction by Gena Showalter

Welcome to our stop on Gena Showalter’s LORD OF THE UNDERWORLD series tour! For Romancing the Readers stop we will be reviewing The Darkest Seduction #9 of the Lords of the Underworld Series!

The Darkest Seduction
Lords of the Underworld #9
Gena Showalter
 HQN Books; February 28, 2012

Possessed by the demon of Promiscuity, immortal warrior Paris is irresistibly seductive—but his potent allure comes at a terrible price. Every night he must bed someone new, or weaken and die. And the woman he craves above all others is the one woman he’d thought was forever beyond his reach…until now.

Newly possessed by the demon of Wrath, Sienna Blackstone is racked by a ruthless need to punish those around her. Yet, in Paris’s arms the vulnerable beauty finds soul-searing passion and incredible peace. Until a blood feud between ancient enemies heats up.

Will the battle against gods, angels and creatures of the night bind them eternally– or tear them apart?

Gena Showalter is the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the spellbinding Lords of the Underworld, Otherworld Assassins, and Angels of the Dark series, as well as two young adult series--Everlife and the White Rabbit Chronicles--and the highly addictive Original Heartbreakers series. In addition to being a National Reader's Choice and two time RITA nominee, her romance novels have appeared in Cosmopolitan (Red Hot Read) and Seventeen magazine. She was interviewed on Nightline and has been mentioned in Orange is the New Black. Her books have been translated in multiple languages.

She’s hard at work on her next novel, a tale featuring an alpha male with a dark side and the strong woman who brings him to his knees. You can learn more about Gena, her menagerie of rescue dogs, and all her upcoming books atgenashowalter.com or Facebook.com/genashowalterfan

I can't tell you how happy I was to join this tour. There is two reasons why, or maybe a few reasons. One, I love this series and let myself get behind. Two, I thought this was a real good reason to start reading the series again. And three, I really do love her books and love talking about them!

To be honest I don't know how or why I'm so behind on this series. I use to read them almost the second I got that. In fact, I couldn't wait to read Paris and Sienna story.

Or at least I thought I couldn't wait!

It looks like I could since it's now 2016 and this came out in 2012. So what the hell happened? I have no clue. I could blame it on the page count but to be honest the rest of the books are that much shorter. The Darkest Seduction just looks very large and intimidating, very much like the Lords themselves.

I've even picked it up once or twice with no such luck. So this time I had to read it. And boy and I'm glad. I couldn't figure out what stopped from not reading it before. I really enjoyed, The Darkest Pleasure. It made me laugh one minute and tear up the next. It's the whole romance package.

So much happens in the story. You won't be able to stop once you start. You see both Paris and Sienna in a different light. They are much more then they appear. I'm keeping secrets here but I can't help myself it's better to learn those secrets for yourself.

What I loved is that there are so many of the old characters in the story. Even though this is Sienna and Paris story, you catch up with the others and what's going on in their lives too. I like that in a series. The other characters don't need to be front and center, we just need a quick look.

If you've read The Darkest Seduction or any other book by Gena Showalter I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading!

  2. Oh it's so hard to chose one, every time I read a new one, that Demon becomes my favorite. But I guess if I had to pick, it would be The Darkest Night. Ashlyn and Maddox started my love affair with this series and I really loved getting to know the Lords from then on!
