Review: Lion Eyes by Jennifer Ashley

Lion Eyes
Shifters Unbound #7.25
Jennifer Ashley

Bree has just decided to give up trying to be a Shifter groupie when a lion Shifter slams into her truck and tells her to drive. Seamus is on the run from hunters, other Shifters, and who knows who else. All Bree knows is that he’s compelling, needs her help, and most intriguing of all, wears no Collar …

Seamus McGuire fears he’s gone crazy—feral—and become a killer. His only hope of getting away from the hunters and police on his tail is Bree, a human woman who not only knows a lot about Shifters but has great compassion for them.

Things are more complicated than they seem, however. Seamus is on a mission, to protect those in his care after the destruction of Kendrick’s compound of un-Collared Shifters. Seamus must keep it together and keep his charges hidden, but at the same time, he’s pulled to Bree as he’s never been pulled to a woman before. He needs to prove he’s innocent and not crazy before it’s too late for himself, Bree, and those he’s vowed to protect.

Because I'm such a huge fan of books by Jennifer Ashley for me it's always a pleasure to read them. I enjoy both her paranormal's and historical's. Did I also mention she writes contemporaries too? My favorite hands-down is the paranormal's. I love the Shifter Unbound Series.

Even when I was getting slightly burned out on paranormal's I still read hers.

Today I'm talking about Lion Eyes. Seamus is a uncollared shifter. If you haven't read the series you won't understand what that means to the story so I suggest you hurry up and start reading. Ha!

My heart goes out to Seamus. He's got so much going on in his life. You can't help but feel sorry for him. They poor sexy man/lion. He's torn between the life he wants to keep and being with Bree which means for him things have to change.

Both Seamus and Bree are great characters. Seamus is such a strong caring man who works so hard to protect those he cares about. You see his struggle and at times hate the other shifters for making him do something he doesn't want to do. It really makes me laugh that I could hate the other characters, because in reality I've enjoyed them all. It's all due to Ashley's writing. She makes you feel for her characters and the struggles that they are going through.

It isn't only Seamus that's going through something in his life, Bree is dealing with the loss of her brother. If found her to be caring and very funny if not a bit lonely. For those that she cares about she stands strong.

What I love about Ashley's writing is that it doesn't matter if she's writing a mass market or a novella you get the same well-written story. Her books are full of the characters we love and a story that keeps you reading. I can't forget the humor. She makes me laugh!

If you've read Lion Eyes or any other book by Jennifer Ashley I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!
