Nothing
says Christmas like New York Times bestselling author Lori Wilde and
Twilight, TX, and now Lori returns to Twilight for a brand new
heartwarming holiday tale. The matchmaking members of the Cookie Club
are up to their old tricks again!
Christmas
in Twilight, Texas, is all merriment and mistletoe. The Cookie Club
is whipping up their most festive sweets, the townspeople are
scrambling to get their holiday shopping done, and Joe-a hometown guy
with a restless heart-is dreaming about the woman he wants to kiss
most…
…And
who happens to be staying at his sister’s place over the holidays,
while Joe’s sister is away. But Joe isn’t quite sure he wants to
be a living Christmas present to runaway law student Gabi Preston.
Joe
thinks the sassy sweetheart he nicknames “Trouble” won’t
inconvenience anything but his healthy sex drive. But when he
discovers the reasons Gabi escaped from her life, he aches to give
her everything she’s never had. As the magic of the season draws
them together, the gift of love is the only one worth giving…

If you follow me you know how much I love Lori Wilde's books. She writes the type of stories that I love to read about. She always has a great town as the base of her story, then she adds those characters that keep you reading. Some you like, some you love, there are some you think are crazy, and then there are the ones that you just can't help but hate.
But...one of the best parts of her books is the fact that she always makes me laugh. Even when I want to cry a little too.
Of all the fictional towns, Twilight Texas is one I'd love to visit at the all holiday. (there are a few others too) I just love all the clubs and fun the people of Twilight have. As I read I'll Be Home for Christmas I kept thinking of the fun the people of the town must be having. That's how great of a writer Wilde is. She some how draws you into the story so much that sometimes you forget your not living there yourself.
I will admit I wasn't sure about Joe when I first met him. He just seemed to set in his ways. Then are you read on you get to know the real him. He's more then the man that runs from town to town, never settling down.
All he needed was a reason to settle down...
Now Gabi I liked right away. She was just so sweet. She really needed a change a scenery and Twilight is the perfect place. You'll really feel for her. Her story is very sad in so many ways. I wanted to find her parents and shake them until their brains rattled.
Idiots!!!!
Their romance might have a ton of ups and downs but i'm sure it's a ride that neither of these characters would have missed. If your a fan of the movie The Holiday you'll really love this story. Either way, you'll be reading a great story.
Even though this is series each book can be read on their own. I of course would tell you to add them all to your Christmas list.
If you've read I'll Be Home for Christmas or any other book by Lori Wilde I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading!

DeleteI love this town too....I would give anything to live the rest of my life in a town like this one. I love the closeness and friendships and all the fun clubs they have. This book made me cry especially concerning her brother...just broke my heart. But I loved the romance in this one and I loved the whole couple scavenger hunt....so fun.
