Review: Melting into You by Laura Trentham

Melting into You
Falcon Football #3
by Laura Trentham

Alec Grayson returns home to Falcon, Alabama, to rebuild his life after a knee injury ended his NFL career. As the Falcon high school quarterback coach, Alec's love for the game is reignited. Meanwhile, he puts his hard-partying past and the betrayal of the people he trusted most behind him, and adopts a hard demeanor. That is, until a spitfire artist with soulful eyes and a body that haunts his dreams gets under his skin and threatens to crack his armor.

Lilliana Hancock is forced to leave her struggling-artist lifestyle in New York and return to Falcon after her father's unexpected death leaves her a decrepit family mansion. Determined to use her skills to turn the home into a successful bed and breakfast, Lilliana is stopped at every turn by the town contractor, who happens to be Alec, the gorgeous and arrogant jock to whom she lost her virginity in college. Except Alec doesn't remember, which infuriates her. Too bad she can't forget the way his body felt against hers or how his heated gaze follows her...

Will they be able to put their pasts behind them for a future together?

I was born and raised in a small town in Northwest Tennessee. Although, I loved English and reading in high school, I was convinced an English degree equated to starvation! So, I chose the next most logical major - Chemical Engineering- and worked in a hard hat and steel toed boots for several years. Now I live in South Carolina with my husband and two children. In between school and homework and soccer practices, I love to get lost in another world, whether it's Regency England or small town Alabama.

If you've been reading the Falcon Football series by Laura Trentham all along then you know how good it is. Melting into You is book #3 and is the final book in the series. You get a idea that all is not well between Alec and Lilliana from things she says to Jessica in Caught Up in the Touch.

Those comments set up Melting into You perfectly. You are ready for the bumpy ride that's coming. I'm really glad to know that it wasn't a straight forward ride. Their story has many twits and turns to it. It's gives more grit to the story.

You feel for Alec and what he's gone through with his parents. I will say he has grown up in a good way. He's not that full of himself young man that went away to school. You'll have to read the story to understand where I'm going with that comment. I know, I'm a pain in the backside. You'll thank me for not ruining it for you.

As much as I liked how Alec grew, there are times when you'll want to yell at him. He's a hair puller at times.

Lilliana isn't much different. She's a free spirit type of person that sometimes forgets (or ignores) what needs to be done. She becomes very wrapped up in her art. All in all she's a great character,

You also get to visit the characters from the first two books which gives you a very well-rounded story line. So much happens in Melting into you that you'll want to read it. I would suggest that you start with Slow and Steady Rush then read Caught Up into the Touch before moving on the Melting into You. It will make the whole series much more better. It's only three books and each one moves very quickly. It's should take you guys no time to finish the series in time to start her new one, Cottonbloom "Kiss Me That Way" coming out on May 31st!

If you've read Melting into You by Laura Trentham or any other book by her I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!
