Review: Zack by Cheyenne McCray

Zack
Cheyenne McCray

Ever since bad boy Zack Hunter left her ten years ago, breaking her heart, Sky MacKenna hasn't been able to find a man who sets her on fire the way he did. Then he comes striding back into her life—bigger, badder, and sexier than before.

Zack Hunter never thought his job as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent would lead him back to his small hometown, and he never thought he'd set eyes on Sky again. Leaving her behind had been the stupidest thing he'd ever done, but this time he isn't going to let her go. And as soon as Zack lays eyes on Sky, he makes it clear that he intends to make her his all over again.

When Sky becomes entangled in the case he's investigating, Zack can't help but take the threat personally. As the danger mounts, their passion burns even hotter.

My thoughts....

When I started to read Zack there was something about it that I couldn't put my finger on. Right from the first sentence it was like I was feeling...deja vu!

Now don't get me wrong that happens every once in a while for me. Mostly if I read the little blurb at the end of a book. It's the reason I don't do that anymore.

So I went to her website and checked it out. (It was bugging me this much) and what I found was that at one time it was published as Wildfire by Ellora's Cave. After I found that information I remembered Cheyenne mentioning that. (I really need to learn to pay attention) I looked back and found that I read Wildfire back in December of 2007.

I was on a McCray kick. I found her at RT and fell in love with her books from Ellora's Cave. Then she wrote one of my favorite paranormal series, her Magic series came out in 2009. I really wish she'd write more of those, they were so good. If you haven't read them pick up the first book, Forbidden Magic and enjoy the ride.

Enough about that, back to Zack. Even though I read it already as Wildfire, I read it again. I wasn't sure if anything besides the name was changed.
I really enjoyed Zack. Even though the man Zack pissed me off for hurting Sky. I really like Sky. She works hard for what she has. Not to worry, both Sky and I get over being pissed at Zack.
She got more enjoyment out of getting over it then I did but, whatever!
I think you'll find Zack to be well-written, (a plus when enjoying a book) with characters that you won't be able to not like. It also has a mystery thrown in. What more could you ask for?
It took a while but finally Zack and Sky worked as a team. Finally when all is said and done they both learn that they might have gone on with their lives but then never truly fell out of love.
I found Zack to be a very enjoyable story and I'm glad that I read it again. Liked it just as much as I did the first time.
If you've read Zack or any other books by Cheyenne McCray I'd love to hear your thoughts. Happy reading!
I now own 3 copies of this book. Haha! (I also had a trade size copy of Zack on my book shelve)
