Review: Hannah and the Highlander by Sabrina York

Hannah and the Highlander
Untamed Highlanders #1
Sabrina York

Highlanders are her weakness.

Hannah Dounreay has no time for suitors who only seem interested in her family’s land, which she manages as well as any man. If she marries, she wants to be loved for the educated, independent woman she is. But when a strong, silent–and spectacularly handsome–Highlander saves her from a violent attack, her heart is stirred. Who is this man? And if he asks for Hannah’s hand, will she be able to resist him?

Love is the most powerful weapon of all.

Alexander Lochlannach, Laird of Dunnet, has no time to lose. The Highlands are in an uproar as clans battle for land–without mercy–and Alexander can’t afford to fall for the wildly attractive, strong-willed Hannah. What’s more, he has a desperate secret, one that could destroy them both. But as their attraction turns into an all-consuming passion, Alexander has no choice but to prove to Hannah that he’s the only man for her–body and soul…

My thoughts....

This is the first time I've read a book by Sabrina York. But it won't be the last. As you guys who follow me know, I don't often review historical's. I just don't get into them like I use to. And because of that I'm very picky and which ones I do read.

Scottish guys are always my #1 pick. (Huh, that's not really historical as much as it's a person! Oh well, and stand by my statement.)

I'm so happy I decided to give a try. I enjoyed both the humor and the little bit of mystery going on. The characters are a plus too. I love Alexander, or at least I think I do. It's not like he had much to say. Or did he? Have I drawn you in yet?

You'll also like Hannah. She doesn't get that she's a gem. Like so many women, it doesn't matter when they were living, never see themselves in the same light as others. She a very strong woman that takes charge of her life.

I also liked Hannah's family too. They make me want more of their stories.

I think  you'll really enjoy this story. She reminds me a little bit of Julie Gawood. Garwood has a little more humor in her books but the feel of the story is the same.

If you've read Hannah and the Highlander, or any other book of Sabrina York I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!
