About HARD AS STEEL: A Hard Ink/Raven Riders Crossover Novella
After identifying her employer's dangerous enemies, Jessica Jakes takes refuge at the compound of the Raven Riders Motorcycle Club. Fellow Hard Ink tattooist and Raven leader Ike Young promises to keep Jess safe for as long as it takes, which would be perfect if his close, personal, round-the-clock protection didn't make it so hard to hide just how much she wants him—and always has.
Ike Young loved and lost a woman in trouble once before. The last thing he needs is alone time with the sexiest and feistiest woman he's ever known, one he's purposely kept at a distance for years. Now, Ike's not sure he can keep his hands or his heart to himself—or that he even wants to anymore. And that means he has to do whatever it takes to hold on to Jess forever.
About Laura Kaye:
Laura is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of over twenty books in contemporary and paranormal romance and romantic suspense. Growing up, Laura’s large extended family believed in the supernatural, and family lore involving angels, ghosts, and evil-eye curses cemented in Laura a life-long fascination with storytelling and all things paranormal. She lives in Maryland with her husband, two daughters, and cute-but-bad dog, and appreciates her view of the Chesapeake Bay every day.

My thoughts....
I want to start off with telling you that I thought this story was VERY sexy. More so then the rest of the Hard Ink series. There are a few blush moments in this book, in a good way.
I really enjoyed the Hard Ink series but wasn't sure how I'd feel about this new series she's writing that Hard as Steel breaches the gap for. I'm really not into the motorcycle craze that's going on. But since I really enjoy Kaye's books, I felt I owed it to her to give it a try.
Plus I love Jess.
I'm happy to report that I really enjoyed it. Like I said I love Jess and wanted her to have her own book since we were first introduced to her. There is just something about her. Sweet and funny. With me not into the motorcycle thing I wasn't sure how I would feel about Ike being a hero, (for some reason I really like his name, very unheroish, but yet it is) he ended up to be a real good one.
Like with Kaye's other books Hard as Steel is full of humor, that really adds to the story. I know you shouldn't laugh when people are trying to kill you, but it does relieve the stress. It also does a wonderful job of going from one series...to another. You now have a idea of what's to come.
I can't say that Hard as Steel has sold me on the motorcycle craze, but it has encouraged me to try another one in Kaye's new Raven series.
I would love to hear your thoughts on Hard as Steel or any of the Hard Ink series...I'm not forgetting her other books too. You can talk about them also. Or how about the motorcycle story line, you in or out? Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!

DeleteSounds good. I don't mind MC romances sometimes.... I always struggle with the criminal aspect of some of the heroes. However it then makes me wonder, what's the difference when I read another particular best selling paranormal author whose characters are pretty criminal too. Lol
ReplyDeleteI don't care for the crime part either. I think the issue for me is that most of the time you think drugs and other very bad things with them.
