Blurb

A bold, seductive laird meets his passionate match in a scintillating Highland romance from New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands.

Sword fighting, swearing, and riding astride come naturally to Saidh Buchanan. Simpering and holding her tongue-definitely not. Raised alongside seven boisterous brothers, Saidh has little interest in saddling herself with a husband…until she glimpses the new Laird MacDonnell bathing naked in the loch. Though she’s far from a proper lady, the brawny Highlander makes Saidh feel every inch a woman.

She has an angel’s looks, a warrior’s temper, and seeks out his kisses with wanton eagerness. Little wonder that Greer is intrigued by his comely guest. When reckless desire overtakes them, he’s more than willing to make an honest woman of her. But Saidh is the target of a hidden enemy, and Greer faces the battle of his life…to safeguard the woman he wants above all others.

My thoughts....

I don't know about you but for me there are certain authors that I think of as, "comfort reads" those authors that I always enjoy and look forward to their books coming out. For me, Lynsay Sands is one of those authors. I don't care if I'm reading her paranormal or historical series, I just love reading her!

She is one a the few historical authors that I still read. She writes historical the way I like to read them. I love a ton of humor in my stories. I also like stories that are fast paced and don't seem to get bogged down in the historical details.

Not that I don't like to learn something new, I just don't want to feel like I've gone back to school.

Sands books always contain a well-written story, about characters you enjoy reading about and she often leaves you laughing.

I was so happy to read The Highlander Takes a Bride, I've really enjoyed the Scottish Highlander Series. This time up we have Saidh Buchanan, (isn't that a fun name to pronounce) & Greer, the new Laird MacDonnell. You meet Saidh in the prior books and really come to enjoy her. She's a independent woman (or as much as a woman could be back then) who takes no crap from anyone.

I love her spirit and she has such a big heart.

Let's not forget Greer, what a sexy man. I can just picture him running around in his kilt all naked underneath. (no, I don't know for a fact that he'd be naked underneath his kilt, but this is my review) Right away you notice that he has a big heart too. Just the gentle way he treats his squire shows you that.

Together, Greer and Saidh are the perfect couple.

Not only are they good characters, but the story is wonderful too. I just didn't want to put it down. The Highlander Takes a Bride has a slight mystery that keeps you engrossed in the story and what's going to happen next.

All in all, a wonderful story that I didn't want to end.  I also loved Saidh's brothers. OMG! They are so funny. I really want their stories. I'd really love to hear your thoughts about The Highlander Takes a Bride or any other book by Sands. Happy reading!

  2. I am so excited to read this one. I agree with you about Sands being a comfort author...she is just fabulous. I love love love the humor, its just fabulous. Not too many authors can make me laugh like she can....Karen Hawkins and Sandra Hill have some pretty amusing historical's as well. But many of them are so tame and serious (which is fine) but I love a story with quick witted humor. I seem to connect with the story more.

  4. I'm so happy to hear others say that she is also their comfort author. My boyfriend rolls his eyes when I squeal with delight every time I see a preorder for any of her books. I was so happy to see Saidh's story written and even more happy when I read it and realized where it was picking up from.
