Kiss Me by Susan Mallery
After Phoebe Kitzke's kind heart gets her suspended from her job in LA, she swears off doing favors—until her best friend begs for help on the family ranch in Fool's Gold. Unfortunately, sexy cowboy Zane Nicholson isn't exactly thrilled by the city girl's arrival.
Thanks to his brother's latest scheme, Zane has been roped into taking tourists on a cattle drive. What Phoebe knows about ranching wouldn't fill his hat, but her laughter is so captivating that even his animals fall for her. One slip of his legendary control leads to a passionate kiss that convinces him she's exactly the kind of woman a single-minded loner needs to avoid.
In his arms, Phoebe discovers she's a country girl at heart. Yet no matter how much the small town feels like home, she can't stay unless Zane loves her, too…but is this cowboy interested in forever?

My thoughts...

Why is it that when you need to find something you can't. I know there must be dozens of books with kiss or love in the title but when I need to read one for my challenge I can't think of crap.

You don't know how happy I was to see that one of Susan Mallery's upcoming books (it's out now, but not when we first did this list) had kiss in the title. Happy dance!  If you follow me then you know I'm a huge fan of Susan Mallery. I just love her books. So...pluses all around!  They are "comfort reads" for me. I just love a author that no matter what they write, you like them.

If your a fan of Mallery's (if you're not, your about to be) then you know she writes this wonderful Fools Gold Series. You won't be able to not love this town and the people who live in it.

I will tell you up front that the series is better if you read each book in order but your don't have to do that. Malley usually writes a trilogy each year for the series and a holiday story that ties in. If you feel like starting at the beginning is to much for you, (do it anyway) then make sure to at least start at the beginning of the trilogy.

Up this time we have Zane Nicholson and Phoebe Kitzke!

I really loved both of these characters. Poor Zane is so misunderstood by his teenage brother. The boy thinks he's no fun and always out to stop him from having fun. Which is so far from the truth. Zane works hard on raising him the best he can. Which makes your really care about him as a characters. Even if he's rigid at times, you can see his heart when he fixes his brothers mistake.

A Huge one at that!

Now Phoebe is another kettle of wax. At times I wanted to shake her and tell her to stop being so nice to everyone! Grow a pair! She is one of the gentlest characters that I've read in a while. Her heart is so big you could fall into it. Of course being nice isn't always what it's cracked up to be and it can get you into hot water once in a while too. Poor Phoebe has to learn that the hard way.

I really loved Kiss Me but I did have a issue or two. At times I thought the secondary story line took away from the main story, but on the other hand I really liked the secondary story. I kinda wish she would have written them each as their own stories.

Other then that, I enjoyed it. And even that wasn't a big complaint. If you've read Kiss Me, or any other of her books I'd love to hear what you think of them. Happy reading!

Don't forget to stop by my fellow Book Club Thursday Bloggers and see which challenge they are doing this month.
