American
lass seeks brawny Scot...
As
if being newly single isn’t brutal enough, Sloane Chatfield's
friends are getting obnoxious about setting her up. When Sloane
insists she's waiting for a certain sexy fictional Highlander to come
along, her friends surprise her with a trip to Scotland to find her a
new boyfriend. She’d rather have a root canal. But if she can find
a Highland hunk to “break her heart” before her friends arrive…
In
a remote Highland village, Galen Buchanan is struggling to keep the
family pub afloat. Everything is falling apart, he’s running out of
money, and now there's an opinionated American lass parked at his
best table, driving him mad. But then Sloane asks Galen to be her
pretend Highland boyfriend...and offers him enough money to save the
pub. It’s only for a few days, he figures. What's the worst that
could happen?

My thoughts...
I was so glad to be able to review The Perfect Bargain by Jessa McAdams (aka Julie London) I've been a reader of her books for a while now. One of my favorite series of hers is her ThrillSeekers Anonymous Series. which is now called, Over the Edge. I loved the characters and the humor of that series so I couldn't wait to read The Perfect Bargain.
It also didn't hurt that it's in the highlands of Scotland.
At first I didn't think I'd care for Sloane. Her uptight, I'm better then everyone's attitude put me off. I'm so glad I kept on reading because it was by the second chapter that I realized how well the character was written. You at first think all of what I said about her, then you start to learn the real Sloane. The one who's dealing with all the same crap as us. It made her much more likable.
I didn't take as much time warming up to Galen, but really...he's Scottish and a highlander, why would I. Yes this statement makes me sound shallow, I just don't care.
Together these two are so funny. They have really nothing in common, but they work. They each gives the other what they need. The story got way more interesting when Sloane friends join in. I'm hoping she's going to do their stories too. I really liked them. Very crazy.
There is more that happens in the book, and I haven't really gotten into the bargain and what happens between Sloane and Galen because I want you to be able to enjoy it for yourselves.
The only negative, and it's a small one...is that it was way to short. I wanted more. In a way, that's not really negative. Make sure to add The Perfect Bargain to you reading list, you won't be sorry. Happy reading!
