Review: Mate Bond by Jennifer Ashley

It seems lately I'm so busy setting up tour for reviews, release days and cover reveals that I haven't found a lot of time to read just for the pleasure of it. When I do I keep my fingers crossed that it will be something that I like.

This month I had so many books that I needed to review, (many that I loved and would have read anyway, just maybe not this month) that I only had time for one me book, and this is what I picked.....

Mate Bond by Jennifer Ashley

To cement the leadership of his North Carolina Shiftertown, Bowman O’Donnell agreed to a “mating of convenience.” Two powerful wolf shifters, he and Kenzie keep the pack in order and are adored by all. Bowman would do anything to protect Kenzie, for in each other’s arms they’ve found far more than friendship. But as strong as their attachment is, they still haven’t formed the elusive mate bond—the almost magical joining of true mates.

Now with a monster ravaging the countryside and threatening the Shiftertown community, some in the pack fear that a pair without a true mate bond isn’t strong enough to lead. Bowman and Kenzie will have to rely on their instinctive trust in one another to save their Shifters—and the ensuing battle will either destroy them or give them the chance to seize the love they’ve always craved.

My Thoughts...
For a while there I got tired of reading so many paranormal's. It seemed like everyone had one out and I loved so many. I still read certain authors, (or I should say I buy them, they don't always get read right away) just not as many. One of the authors I keep up on is Jennifer Ashley. I love her Shifters Unbound Series. Her characters (the guys, yes her women characters are good too, I just don't drool over them) are so sexy, funny and take-charge kind of people you can't help by love.
I will admit that most of her stories give my heart a little twinge, but Mate Bond made it hurt. It broke my heart that both Bowman and Kenzie loved each other so much but didn't feel a mate bond! Being in their heads and knowing their thoughts just choked you up.
Bowman and Kenzie are the perfect couple. They know just how to piss each other off and would do anything within their power to save each other. Along with their son they make the perfect unit.
Mate Bond is book seven of the series so you might want to go back to the beginning and start at book one. I think it enhances the overall story that way. Of course you can read them out of order too, but why? I don't know how the weather is by you but we've had nothing but rain. This series is perfect for those days your stuck inside (by weather or a fake cough. Don't act like you've never done it to finish a book when you have plans)
I'm happy to say that I don't have any negatives to voice about Mate Bond, other then I fell for Cade and want his story...NOW Cade is one hot, sexy bear shifter and he's mine so back off. Did I say that out-loud? I thought I only said it in my head. Oh well it's out there now!
If you've read Jennifer Ashely's shifters or just like to take about paranormal's I hope you leave a comment! Happy reading!

  1. Lovely review. I have adored reading this series, it has just been so awesome, and this book was so different from the others, and I liked that Ashley won me over even if I wasn't sure how I would like it, but I LOVED it. This is one of the best shifter romance series I have read. Of course Jennifer Ashley is a auto buy author for me, I will read anything she writes.

    1. Thanks! I feel the same way about it. You really feel bad for the way her shifters are treated.. I love her too and read everything she writes for romance. Thanks for stopping by!
