A
Fallen Star…
A
hot-mess of controversy and scandal, Dakota Breeze—tarnished pop
star of fading fame and fortune—accepts a friend’s offer, taking
refuge in a small Midwestern town in order to rehearse her comeback
concert in secret. Starstruck is the perfect venue however rehearsals
are marred by Dakota’s reluctance to resurrect her former bad-girl
persona and complicated by an anonymous death threat.
A
Haunted Bodyguard…
Enlisted
by a mutual friend, Wyatt MacDermott—a seasoned protection
specialist—agrees to act as Dakota’s temporary bodyguard. Forced
to set aside a personal grudge in order to fulfill his duties, Mac’s
stunned by his fierce and instant attraction to the reckless
celebrity he’s long associated with his greatest regret.
Obsessed
with conflicting needs and united passion, Dakota and Wyatt spin out
of control, indulging in a whirlwind affair and tempting an avenger’s
wrath.
EXCERPT
As soon as Mac
locked the door, Dakota turned and backed him against the wall. “You
may not care about the order, but I do. You can ask me anything you
want. After,” she said while working the buttons of his white
shirt. “Knowing me could
be a total turn off. Considering we’re hot and bothered now let’s
do thisnow.
I—”
“What happened
to not talking this to death?” He reversed their position.
Unknotted her shrug.
She opened his
shirt. Pressed her lips to his impressive chest while pushing his
jacket from his equally impressive shoulders.
He expedited the
process, ridding himself of the jacket and shirt while kissing her
stupid.
There would be
no overthinking this. She could barely breathe, let alone conjure a
coherent sentence. She felt the soft fabric of her dress skimming up
her body, along with his hands. His mouth played over her cheek, her
jaw, her neck, her ear—an endless kiss as he stripped away her
clothes and senses.
He broke away
long enough to admire her pink bra and thong.
Her skin sizzled
as he devoured her form. Bare. Lush.
“Gorgeous,”
was all he said, yet she read so much more in his eyes.
Your body,
your curves—perfect. Size eight? Why would you want to be anything
less?
Her heart
pounded as he freed her hair of its twisted knot. Her stomach coiled
as his fingers skimmed the waistline of her thong. His fingers dipped
beneath the satin—a brush, a touch. Fleeting. Teasing.
Frantic with
desire, Dakota attacked his belt and zipper. “The last two days
have been nothing but foreplay. Let’s skip to the main event.”

Review
I'll admit to being a huge fan of Beth Ciotta. She writes those crazy, fun loving and touching characters that I enjoy reading. I'm not a big fan of books with plots that deal with the music industry. It's just not my thing. But since it was written by Beth I had to give it a try. At first I found Dakota Breeze to be very silly and childish. She really rubbed me raw, and then I read on. Soon I learn there was more to her and I liked the person underneath the star. She's more then meets the eye. I'm so glad I kept going with the story. Now right away I liked Wyatt. He is such a great guys. He feels the need to protect a woman he really doesn't like, because it's just the way he is. He's a wonderfully caring character, it doesn't hurt that he can kick butt too! I think you'll really enjoy Obsessed and find it to be full of layers. Great start to series! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the book. Happy reading!

DeleteVery good story. People judge too quickly, but they have their own problems too. I like how Beth let you unwrap layers of Dakota.
