Review: Stone Cold Lover by Christine Warren
Stone Cold Love
Art restorer Felicity "Fil" Shaltis can read the magic in auras, but her fascination with a valuable statue her friend Ella Harrow asks her to locate is purely artistic. At least until the fierce stone gargoyle comes to life as a powerful, and powerfully hot, immortal warrior, who promptly saves her life from a cultist set on destroying them both. Suddenly "chiseled good looks" takes on a whole new meaning…
STONE COLD LOVER
Spar expected nothing less than one of the seven demons of the Dark to wake him—and instead finds himself the unlikely savior of a spirited human female who now bears the mark of the demon. As one of seven Guardians created to vanquish the Darkness, Spar has no time for love—but he can’t deny that his destiny is clearly entwined with Fil’s. To battle the looming threat to humanity, first Spar must save the woman who summoned him...
Whenever I pick up a new book by Christine Warren I have to wrap my mind around the fact that she has started a new series. I think that says a lot about a author when you keep thinking of past books she wrote and still like them. I find that sometimes, (to me) when a author starts a new series I don't care for it. There is something missing. Most likely the characters I've come to love from prior book. I'm happy to report that didn't happen with her gargoyle books. I just loved them. Cold Stone Lover is book two and even though it's a stand alone, I do feel that there is a story line that jumps from the first book, Heart of Stone, to this one. I'd read them in order. The good thing is that they aren't really that many in the series yet so that should be easy. In Stone Cold Lover you meet Felicity, who is friends with Ella from Heart of Stone. She is one prickly woman who spends a lot of time barking at people. I think that helps her cover up her soft heart. You also meet the next Guardian, Spar, brother of Kees. Spar is a great guy/gargoyle who feels it's his duty to protect the humans around him. Only for one human is it a NEED. Both Felicity (as Spar calls her) and Spar are perfect for each other. They not only make for a good couple, the complete something in each other. I'm positive you will get lost in the story and want more just like me. Happy reading!
I was given a ARC of Stone Cold Lover for a honest review
