Book Club Thursday/Review: The Dom Project by Heloise Belleau & Solace Ames

By day, Robin Lessing has a successful career as a university archivist. By night, she blogs about her less-than-successful search for Mr. Tall, Dark and Dominant. Living up to her handle "The Picky Submissive," she's on the verge of giving up and settling for vanilla with a side of fuzzy handcuffs when she discovers her best friend and colleague has a kinky side, too.
Sexy, tattooed techie John Sun is an experienced Dom who never lacks for playmates, male or female. If he can't satisfy Robin's cravings, maybe no one can—after all, he knows her better than anyone. So he offers to help her master the art of submission for one month.
Robin eagerly agrees to John's terms, even the pesky little rule forbidding any friendship-ruining sex. But rules are made to be broken, and once they begin their stimulating sessions, it's not long before she's ready to beg him for more—much more…
Thanks for taking the time to stop by for our Book Club Thursday post. As you can see this is a review week. If you've read the book we'd love to hear what you thought!

We were lucky enough to met the author at RT14 and she told us about the book and after we talked about it I found I really wanted to read it. I'm a fan of erotic romance, especially, bdsm. I know its not for everyone and can be a little darker then many like, but like I said, I'm a fan. With that said, I found The Dom Project to be well written with likable characters. But I will admit I found it slightly boring. It was a little tame for me. It would be a good story for someone who wants to dip their toes in the bdsm world without falling in. There was nothing that I can put my finger on that would tell you why I didn't love the story. Sometimes things don't click. But I'm sure there are others that will find it to be just their cup of tea.

I would only be able to give this book 2.5 stars for the reasons I stated above

I hope you take the time to visit my fellow Book Club Thursday Bloggers and see what they thought.

Make sure to stop by next week, July 3rd when we doing a free day! Who knows what each of us will do!

  1. I liked the cover and the idea. I guess when you start out reading Emma Holly and books from Black Lace publishers, etc. that is how hardcore you might expect this to be. It seemed more like New Adult flirting with the idea of BDSM.
