Book Club Thursday: Wait For Me by Samantha Chase

Wait For Me

There’s no time like the present…

Executive assistant Emma Taylor is desperate for a little time away; away from her job, her life and from thoughts of her boss’s son who doesn’t seem to know she even exists. Tired of waiting for the time to be right, she takes advantage of her boss’s generous offer for a little weekend getaway to thank her for helping out with a difficult business deal.

Unless you’re still running from your past…

Former NFL superstar Lucas Montgomery is still suffering from a career-ending injury. His self-imposed exile from life is exactly what he wants; a sanctuary where there’s no chance for disappointment or distractions and that’s exactly the way he likes it. While his family has been patiently waiting for Lucas to come around and embrace life once again, they don’t realize that it wasn’t just his career that was lost, but his sense of identity.

…And afraid to hope for the future

Lucas thought everything was fine until sweet, sexy and completely off-limits Emma Taylor comes crashing into his carefully constructed world one snowy weekend and turns his entire life upside down.

Was Mother Nature really to blame or did someone else lend a hand?

Here we are again, it's Book Club Thursday. I hope you take the time to post a comment and to remember to visit the other two blogs participating in Thursday Book Club. I also want to remind you that because this is a book club there will be spoilers.

Review

I've had "Wait for Me" on my to-be-bought list for a while now so when we decided to do this book for our book club Thursday, I was so happy. "Wait for Me" is book one of the Montgomery Brothers. First up is Emma & Lucas. I do have to say that I really enjoyed their story. I liked all the characters and found the writing to be very good. The story line was a little one-dimensional and not anything new but, because I liked both Emma & Lucas I didn't find myself caring. I will be looking forward to reading the next two books in the series.

I give this book 3.5 stars.

If you've read "Wait for Me" we'd love to hear what you thought about it. Next book club we are talking about books with "Wedding" themes to get ready for Valentines day. Join us!

  1. I liked it. Lucus temper drove me crazy, but when a man is hurt, their pride does take over, so that was realistic to me. I already had the whole set. I will have to read the next one soon.

  2. Glad you both liked it. I always enjoy seeing our points of view whether they are similar or different.
