Book Club Thursday: Ethan's Mate by J S Scott

Ethan's Mate
J S Scott

Ethan Hale is a vampire with a mission. Together with his three brothers and a few other unmated members, he fights with The Vampire Coalition to protect humans from fallen vampires. His life is fairly simple. If he has a problem...he solves it. If it's an evil problem...he kills it. But his
uncomplicated life is about to end when his mate unexpectedly calls him to her.
Brianna Cole is weak, her life force fading away. She thinks she is suffering from a rare form of leukemia. Little does she knows that her illness is much more complicated. She's dying because she has not united with her vampire mate and given him his soul that she has been guarding since birth.
Ethan finds Brianna and knows he needs to convince her to mate or watch her die. He's waited for her for five hundred years and he has no intention of letting her go, but she is not in any shape for the dominate, volatile mating ceremony with a vampire. He will have to win the race against time to strengthen Brianna and a battle with a stalking fallen to claim his mate. He is also at war with his mating instincts that make him burn to dominate and
conquer her. But Ethan is determined, and the stubborn vampire will do whatever is necessary to possess his soul bonded mate...forever.

Here we are again, it's Book Club Thursday. I hope you take the time to post a comment and to remember to visit the other two blogs participating in Thursday Book Club. I also want to remind you that because this is a book club there will be spoilers.

I can honestly say when I started to read this story I found it to be really good. Of course, I also found the story line good when I read it by Christine Feehan. It could have been me but I found too much that felt like a Feehan book. So much so that I couldn't enjoy it at all. I get there there isn't that many new idea's out there, but at least have some of your own. Now I'm not saying this is totally a bad book but...I did like both Ethan and Brianna. In fact I also liked Ethan's brothers. It wasn't the characters I had trouble with. It was everything else.

I give this book 2 stare. It would have been 1 but there are part that are good.

If you've read Ethan's Mate by J S Scott I'd like to know what you thought. Is my reaction to the book, wrong? If you haven't read it you can get it for free for Kindle. I hope you visit with us next week on the 16th when we talk about which author we miss
Don't forget to stop by my fellow bloggers and see what they thought about Ethan's Mate!Happy reading!

  1. I did think about Feehan myself at first, but since this is such a short story I didn't mind some of the similarities. Vampire legends today seem a little of this, a little of that. Other authors have done similar too. Maybe if it were a longer story that could be fleshed out she could have made it more her own. I liked the couple Ethan and Brianna and I liked his brothers being brothers with him.

  2. It bugged me so much that I don't thing I could have read anything bigger.

  3. I too am unsure if anything more than another 25 pages or so would have made a huge difference.
