Blurb

She finally meets a decent man–after she’s oath-bound never to touch men again!
Rebecca’s life sucked before she became an angel. Crappy apartment, awful jobs, abusive boyfriends–it was no wonder she jumped at the chance to escape it all and become a real live angel. The problem is Rebecca’s not very angelic, and she’ll have to do more to earn her wings than end her love affair with the word f–er, frick.
Especially when she’s assigned to save single father Tony Weis, whose less-than-pure thoughts wreak hell on a telepathic angel’s nerves. It’s all Rebecca can do to keep her hands off him…but when she loses her memory injuring herself to save Tony’s daughter, now it’s Tony’s turn to be her angel and care for her. But will Tony’s devotion tempt her from her angelic path, even if it means being human again?

Review
I knew from the first page that I wasn't going to enjoy this book and then found that I had to force myself to finish it. If I had to put my finger on what exactly it was I couldn't do it. There was too many things I didn't care for.  The story started off slow, and doesn't really build into sometime good until more then half the way through the book. At times, you think the author is trying to put humor in the book but it never really there. I also didn't care for the way she makes Tony seem like a man that you wouldn't find as a hero. He leaves a great paying job to take over a business that his father started for a lot less money even though he has a family to support. Why? Rebecca swearing seems to be add for the shock value, not that it's really something the character would do. Add that to a rushed plot and for me, you get nothing good. I did like how she Rebecca protects Miranda and saves her life. That was good. It was also nice when Tony takes care of her. Now Miranda, she is my favorite character in the book, which to me, shouldn't be if you're writing a romance. You want the main characters to be the ones that draw a reader into the story. Or at least I think so. Miranda's character should have only been a supporting cast member.  Of course I didn't think the whole book is bad. It does have it's moments. I just can't see myself reading another book by this author.
I would give this book 1.5 stars.

  1. I didn't think of Tony as much of a hero either. I didn't mind Rebecca swearing however if you look at my review, you will see most of what I didn't like had to do with plot/character development- maybe then it her behavior would have fit more.

    1. I don't mind swearing in books, I just felt this was forced and out of place. The book really need more about the characters. It felt like you were thrown into the story.

  2. There was just a lot of missed opportunity in novella form. My favorite scenes were with Miranda, too. By not having information, it made the story so choppy and unbelievable. They're in love? How'd that happen?

  3. Like I said in my review, something was missing. Early on when they are talking it was like they had been together for years but it felt like we weren't in on it.

    1. I totally agree. She went from them just meeting to feeling like they've known each other forever.
