Carolina Home is the first in the Dare Island series. It is about Matt Fletcher & Allison Carter. Matt is a single father of a 16 year old son, and a captain of his own boat. Allison is a school teacher to Matt's son. They meet and find that they like being with each other, even though Matt isn't ready to settle down again. His first and only marriage had been a disaster. Allison is young and enjoying life, not sure if Dare Island is even where she wants to settle for life. This is a wonderful story with great characters and a good plot. There are funny moments and some very sad ones. I think you'll enjoy it. Happy reading!
