When Sean O’Riley shows up at the Hartford Bed & Breakfast for his older brother’s bachelor weekend, he’s just hoping to make it through the weekend. What he’s not expecting is to come face to face with the woman he lost his virginity to a decade ago—a woman he’s never really forgotten.

The last time Lotti Hartford saw Sean, she told him she loved him while he said nothing. Now, ten years later, she’s just looking for a good time. For once, she wants to be the wild and free one, and Sean – the good time guy – is the perfect candidate.

But as the weekend continues, Sean realizes that after a lifetime of being the hook-up king, he’s ready to find happily-ever-after, and he wants it with Lotti. But will she open her heart to him again? As Christmas sweeps through the little B&B, he can only hope love and magic are in the air.

I'm not a huge fan of second chance romance but I think they work well in novella's. The group work is already done so you don't feel like their romance is rushed. Nothing worse they a unsatisfied wham-bam!

With Holiday Wishes you don't feel that way. You really get to know the two main characters Sean & Lotti. Of course you already know Sean from prior books but you get to see another side of him in his book.

I came to really like him as a character. He's grown as a person and you see that in all that he did for his brother.

You also feel for Lotti too. She's had some hard knocks in life and you can tell that she really never got over Sean. Thank God that he felt the same way about her. It really could have turned into a mess.

I really enjoyed this sweet holiday story and was glad that Sean found his HEA! These two are meant for each other and you see that pretty quickly after they reconnect.

If you've read Holiday Wishes or any other book by Jill shalvis I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading! ♡

  1. I love a second chance as a novella. They really do work better, I think, vs just meeting and having EVERYTHING happen in the novella. It was a cute one :)
