Growing up on the Isle of Moon, Brigitta knows nothing of her past, except that she is Embraced: born with powers that forced her into hiding. Everything changes when she learns she’s a princess, hidden away from her villainous half-brother who now rules the kingdom. But he knows about Brigitta, and he’ll do anything to get her back. Unless a certain roguish pirate has anything to say about it…

Rupert is both an infamous pirate and a sorcerer with the power to harness the wind. He’s been waiting nineteen years for revenge—and he needs Brigitta to get it. What begins as a kidnapping of the fiery beauty turns into a fierce attraction. But can he win the captive princess’s heart?

So I Married a Sorcerer is the second book in Sparks' The Embraced series and I have to tell you that I'm loving this series! I was a huge fan of her Love at Stake series and couldn't wait to try this new one.

In fact I have a little secret for you, I have the last book in her Love at Stake series still sitting on my book shelve. I just can't bring myself to read and end the other series.

Crazy, I know!

I'm really loving the titles for this series, great job there! So I Married a Sorcerer continues with the main thread of the series and the ladies of Isle of Moon. It almost felt like where one book ended the next began. I really love that in my series that closely connect. You don't really have to remember the prior book and what happened because you are still right there.

Now saying that I want you to know that So I Married a Sorcerer is it's own story with it's own characters. You just will enjoy the connectivity of them.

Brigitta will crack you up. She's such a strong character that puts others before herself. Rupert is just as caring he just tries to hide it. Of course he really doesn't do a good job of it. They are such great characters and you will feel the pull of their attraction right from the start.

Both Brigitta and Rupert have issues from their pasts that need to be dealt with and you might be a little surprised at how some things turn out. You'll also enjoy the visit with the characters from prior books and a new character too! I wonder what he's all about? Next book maybe? I'm not telling, read the two books in this series to find out.

If you've read So I Married a Sorcerer or any other book by Kerrelyn Sparks I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for visiting and happy reading! ♡

  2. Oh I had such a fun time with this one as well. It was pretty sad to let go of her Love At Stake series though, since they were a blast. However there is something so unique about this fantasy series she has written. I am loving every book here.
