Book Club Thursday: Free Day!

Welcome back to Book Club Thursday!

Today we are doing a free day post. That means we each get to do whatever we want today. Fun, right!!!

I'm going to be doing a review. I just finished reading, My Kind of Wonderful by Jill Shalvis and I really need to talk about it.

My Kind of Wonderful
A Cedar Ridge Novel #2
Jill Shalvis
Grand Central
December 22, 2015
ISBN 978-1455586783

Bailey Moore has an agenda: skiing in the Rockies, exploring castles in Europe, ballroom dancing in Argentina. Now that she has a second lease on life, she’s determined not to miss a thing. What she doesn’t realize is that item #1 comes with a six-foot-one ski god hot enough to melt a polar ice cap. She doesn’t want to miss out on him either, but Hudson Kincaid isn’t the type of guy to love and let go. And as gorgeous as Cedar Ridge is, she’s not planning to stick around.

As head of ski patrol at his family’s resort, Hud thinks he’s seen it all. But never has he run into someone like Bailey. She might look delicate, but her attitude is all firecracker. And her infectious joy touches something deep within him that he’s been missing far too long. Now he’ll just have to convince Bailey to take a chance on her biggest adventure yet . . . something rare and all kinds of wonderful.

It's seems like I've been reading Jill Shalvis forever. Now I know that's not possible but that's how I feel. Deal with it! Ha! If I had to guess I'd say I started reading her in 1995 or 96? See...forever!

I've always enjoyed her for her characters and the humor she brings with them. Her Lucky Harbor series is a favorite of mine. Love them all! If you follow me then you know when I reviewed her last, or close to last book in the Lucky Harbor series I was not a happy camper. The thought of her ending something special to me didn't sit well. I don't do well with change. I knew that she had a new series coming and was worried about it.

What if I didn't like it?

It has happened to me with other authors who I liked. I'm happy to report that I it didn't happen. In fact, I love this series. I don't know what happened but I find these books even funnier then anything else she's ever written.

Crazy, right?

Book one was good. Tons of humor and great characters. Book two, was even better. I love the Kincaid brothers! The way the treat each other has me snickering all the time. Gray has to be the funniest. And he doesn't even have his own book!

Up this time is Hudson's book, one of the twins. He makes me tired just reading about all he does. After reading his story I've learn one thing about myself...I'm lazy!!!! He works as a police officer full time, and at the family business full time. Two full times don't make a whole. I'm kind of shocked he allowed Shalvis to slow him down enough to even have a story.

But he did and I'm grateful to them both, Shalvis for writing a wonderful story, and Hudson for slowing down enough to star in that story.

Since he is someone that doesn't slow down for anyone you know that the woman in his life was going to have to be very special. I think  no I know, Bailey is that person. She has fire and strength in her. Two things she'll need to tame her tiger. When you learn more about her you can't help feeling for her, she's been through a lot. I know, you want to know what....you know what I'm going to say.

Read the book!!!

They really are the perfect match. I love the interaction between them. The give and take makes for good reading. It does seem that at times the story sort of repeats itself, or maybe I should the hero and heroine repeat their actions. The 'should we be together part' started to get old. But in the end them came together in the best possible way.

If you've read My Kind of Wonderful or any other book by Jill Shalvis I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for stopping by and happy reading!
