Fan the Flames
by Michele Dunaway
Man of the Month Series #3
St. Martin’s Press

Former Navy SEAL turned marine rescue firefighter Brad Silverman is tasked with his toughest mission yet: taking care of his best friend’s wife. The only problem is that Scarlett Harrison has always been the one-the one who got away, the one who held his heart, and the one who has always been off limits…

Now widowed Scarlett returns to her childhood home in St. Louis, determined to get her life back on track. She misses her husband but can’t fight the attraction she feels for sexy fireman Brad. As she spends more time with him, the connection they have had since high school grows stronger. Are they finally ready to overcome their pasts and lose their hearts to each other?

About the Author
Describing herself as a woman who does way too much and never wants to stop, Michele Dunaway is a best selling author and award-winning high school teacher. A proud mother of two daughters, Michele is an avid pet lover who shares her home with far too many rescued cats, who of course completely rule the roost.

My thoughts...

Sometimes you read a story and think it's both funny and heartbreaking! Fan the Flames is one of those books. I know the two don't seem to go together, but they do.

Your heart will break for Scarlette and her daughter. No one wants to lose the love of their lives. They also don't want to deal with the fact that their life isn't always perfect. But that's what Scarlette has to do. Right away you'll find yourself cheering for her. You'll love her fun, cute daughter. Some of the best scene in the story are with the daughter.

I also love, love, love (I think you get the point) Brad. What this man did for both his best friend and the woman he has loved forever is so sweet. He gives her a home when she most needs it and is there for her in a million of different ways.

You won't be able to not like him.

I really enjoyed this story and want more of this series. I can't wait for the next one to come out. I will admit to you that I never read the first book in the series, A Little Christmas Jingle, but I did read & review Burning for You here's the link. I will be reading book one this winter and I'm really looking forward to it. The great part about this series is the only main thread that runs through each book in them posing for the calendar. So if you have to read them out of order, they work. You won't feel like your missing something.

I'd love to hear you thoughts on the series if you've read it. Happy reading!

Make sure to get the first two books in the series!
